Outside of being a part of some of the most iconic comedies of our time, like all of the Hangover films, as well as Due Date , Zach Galifianakis has managed to keep a very low profile in Hollywood, making it tough for fans to really get to know him!
But after some digging, I’ve dug up some random facts about him that fans don’t know.

1. He has two sons.
Zach and his wife, Quinn Lundberg, share two sons together.
While the pair never revealed the name of their first-born, 6, their second son, 4, is named Rufus Emmanuel Lundberg.
2. Fame makes him “uncomfortable.”
“It just makes me uncomfortable to talk about because the lifestyle I think people think one lives and the whole machine of Hollywood — it’s not for me, whatever that is. I just like to work, and I’m incredibly grateful. I used to tell diarrhea jokes in cafes in Culver City. That is still me. I can’t escape that person,” he told The Pantagraph .
3. He balances between acting and stand-up gigs whenever he gets bored of one or the other.
“Most towns in the US are all the same now. You have a Staples next to a Starbucks next to Best Buy next to several people who don’t give a shit. So it is not as exciting- the traveling. However I crave doing stand up. The traveling is hard. Plus I am a terrible flier. I get nervous and have to order three whiskeys right away which calms my nerves, but it makes me openly weep on a plane. I want to one day have the audience come to me,” he told Westword .
4. Despite being in *The Hangover* and its sequel, he doesn’t actually party much in real life.
In an interview with New York Magazine , when asked if his role in The Hangover is at all a reflection of his real-life party habits, he explained that partying has never really been his thing.
5. His first stand-up gig was at the back of a burger restaurant.
In an interview with Westword , he revealed that his first-ever stand-up show was at a burger joint in Times Square, and it went really well.
He admitted that the following 45 shows weren’t quite as successful.
6. He has sympathy for clowns.
While many people find clowns to be creepy, Zach told The Pantagraph that he actually feels sorry for them.
“I have sympathy for clowns. Baskets is not a creepy clown, he’s an angry clown, and I think there’s a huge difference. He may be creepy just because people think I’m creepy,” he said .
7. He used to enjoy watching mimes when he was a kid.
“When I was a kid I was fascinated by Shields and Yarnell, which was this mime duo on television. I was really drawn to that kind of physicality,” he told The Pantagraph .
8. He once went on a cross-country road trip.
In an interview with EW , alongside Robert Downey Jr., Zach revealed that when he first moved to California, he and his two friends drove there from New York.
9. He spends his summers with his family in British Colombia.
In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live , Zach revealed that he and his family have a house in the middle of the woods in British Colombia, where they usually spend their summers .
10. His wife, Quinn Lundberg, is Canadian.
Zach’s wife, whom he married back in 2010, is a Canadian businesswoman from Alberta (which explains why they spend their summers up North).
The pair met when they were just teenagers , and have been together ever since.
11. He hates red carpets.
In an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon , Zach explained that red carpets are really not his cup of tea.
“Salt of the earth people there,” he said sarcastically.
“There’s excitement,” he went on. “And you kind of have to fain this excitment, and then you have to be, you know, answering questions that are — I find the questions are boring.”
“I try to liven them up a bit,” he added. “And this woman on the red carpet, she said, ‘It looks like you’ve lost some weight,’ and I just looked at her and I went, ‘Yeah, I’m dying,’ and she goes , ‘Haha. So what are you wearing?'”
12. He has his own show called, *Between Two Ferns* where he interviews celebrities.
Even though Zach, himself, is a celebrity, he still takes a backseat from time to time and interviews other celebrities, instead of being interviewed.
He has had Justin Bieber, Barack Obama, Steve Carell, Bradley Cooper, Brad Pitt, and many others on his show .
13. His cure to a hangover is roasted beets.
“If you eat them before you go out, you wake up fine. I discovered it by accident. I wanted to learn how to make roasted beets, and when I did, I was so overcome with giddiness that I wanted to celebrate. So I drank way too much, but I had no hangover whatsoever the next morning,” he told Newsweek .
