When your kids get splinters, it can be a messy and difficult situation to try and remove them. Kids are usually scared and worried that you are going to hurt them if you try to use a tweezer or something along those lines to remove it.

Sometimes, the splinter itself hurts them so based that they do not want to remove it on their own, either. But thankfully we now have a great parenting hack to get us through this moment.

Parents always come up with amazing ways to help their kids.

Parents, the unsung superheroes of the world, always come up with ways to solve their kid's problems.

A splinter is something that has to be removed before it can create an infection or go deeper into the skin. Luckily, one mom found a brilliant way to get it done.

Tanya, a mom on TikTok, shared a clever way to remove splinters from anyone.

Showcasing where the splinter was on her child, she said that it's pretty simple to do. You just need something that every parent has lying around in their house—a medicine syringe.

First, you have to cut the pointed top off.

Tanya shares that you should cut the top of the plastic syringe off so that it's open and it's a large circle instead of a small point. This will make it easier to suck the splinter out.

Next, you want to put the syringe over the splinter.

Essentially, you want to put pressure on the hand around the splinter so that you are squeezing the skin to push the splinter out of the hand or other area of the body. The splinter will eventually make its way out.

Then, you pull the top so you can capture the splinter inside.

Pulling the top of the syringe makes it so that the splinter comes up and into the plastic part and out of the hand or body. Then, you can see just how big the piece was that was inside of your child.

Tanya says that it doesn't hurt at all.

Whereas using a sharp object may hurt your child because you are poking and prodding around, Tayna says that her kids don't feel this at all. Sometimes, it may hurt for the splinter to come out, depending on how big.

Some people said it was too good to be true.

Some people in the comments said that there is no way that this could work and be true. May did not believe Tanya and thought she had cropped her TikTok video to make it look like it works.

Later, Tanya recreated the video to showcase how you can even use this trick on yourself.

While mowing the lawn, she shared she had gotten a metal shard in her own finger that was super noticeable. She decided to re-record the video and use the hack on herself to show that you can remove it from your own hand, too.

Even one-handed, Tanya showcased the hack works.

Using her non-dominant hand, Tanya suctioned the area around her splinter and was able to apply enough pressure to squeeze it out. She did push a bit more to get it loose.

People were in awe that something so simple could work so well.

“Wait wait, NO NEEDLES? My mother would do ‘surgery’ and pick it out with a Goddamn sewing needle,” one person shared in a comment on her TikTok video.

If you have a plastic syringe around, it's worth a try!
