Katy Perry Lit Up Like A Chandelier On The Met Gala Red Carpet And Twitter Can't Handle It

Just when you thought you had seen it all, Katy Perry showed up in one of the most unusual outfits of the night for the Met Gala.

I guess Katy took the gala's theme to heart and decided to dress up as a... chandelier?

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little confused but also in awe of this outfit.

Before we get into Katy's Met Gala outfit this year, let's take a trip down memory lane.

Like her metallic angel look from the 2018 Met Gala “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination."

Or this morose blood-red look from the 2017 Met Gala that scared the bejesus out of us.

The theme was "Comme des Garçons" which translates to "Like the Boys" so mission accomplished... I guess?

And who could forget my personal fav of her Met Gala looks from 2016?

The theme was "Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology" and she absolutely slayed the red carpet, like a mysterious yet elegant cyborg.

Anyway, getting back to the present, this year's Met Gala crowd went WILD for her "Lumière chic" look.

Make-up? On point. Chandelier accoutrements? On point. ABILITY TO ACTUALLY TURN ON THE LIGHTS? Legendary.

Where do I even begin with this one?

Katy Perry wore a chandelier designed by longtime collaborator, Jeremy Scott. It even lights up!

Anyone else getting some Lumière vibes from_Beauty and the Beast_ with this look?

Twitter was quick to make some jokes about this one.

Some people thought that Katy's costume could have served us well during one extremely dark episode of Game of Thrones. You know what, they're not wrong.

The puns were "lit" in the Twitter comments.

And I appreciate a good tie-in to any of Katy's classic songs.

Of course, Sia was mentioned.

I mean, the jokes were inevitable, considering that Sia had that hit song, "Chandelier". I wonder what she thinks about this look.

Katy Perry was in on the joke, and even belted out a cover of Sia's "luminary" hit.

I hope she releases an official cover of the song, tbh.

Katy graced us with a sneak peek of her Met Gala footwear hours before the event.

Her shoes were serving up some magical Cinderella realness, so we should've known the rest of the outfit would be extra x 10!

But at the end of the day, we can all agree that Katy lit up the Met Gala with this unique look.

I knew I was going to see some crazy fashion tonight, but this defies all my expectations. It just goes to show that you can never predict the outfits at the Met Gala.
