Woman On Tinder Says Short Guys Are The Worst And Gets A Taste Of Her Own Medicine

Everyone has preferences when it comes to the type of person they like to date. Some people prefer brunettes over blondes, tan over pale, tall over short. But to say that people with a certain trait are less worthy of dating is just wrong.

A girl on Tinder recently got a taste of her own medicine when she expressed her rude views on dating men who are shorter than her, and boy did she hate it.

By now, we should all be pretty familiar with Tinder, whether or not you've actually used it yourself.

It can be a great way to meet people, and also a great way to call people out on their crap.

Dating apps like Tinder let you pick your best photos to display.

You can also add in your favorite music, movies and shows, and even the things you don't like.

As much as dating apps can help you find what you do like, I think they might actually be better for figuring out what you don't want in a person.

Some people are pretty honest and put their dislikes right in their bio.

For the people who choose to do this, they have to be prepared for people swiping right just to argue and prove a point.

Which is exactly what happened between one guy and girl on Tinder.

Reddit user janmayeno recently shared his experience with one girl from Tinder.

In her bio, you'll notice she says that if a guy is shorter than 5 feet 7 inches, he should swipe left. janmayeno is 5 feet 6 inches, but when he swiped right on her, he matched.

You might remember earlier this year, Tinder announced height verification.

Blog.GoTinder.com

On their blog, Tinder announced in April they would be introducing height verification to get rid of "heightfishing." They said, "height-lying ends here. To require everyone under 6’ to own up to their real height, we’re bringing truthfulness back into the world of online dating."

Of course, that was just their April Fool's Day joke.

They edited their post to say, "UPDATE: Happy April Fool's Day! While we aren’t really verifying height, we encourage all Tinder users to be honest and keep an open mind while on the app. Sometimes your most unexpected match can lead to amazing things."

Reddit user janmayeno wanted to see how open minded his new match was, and started by pointing out how awful short guys are.

Can someone explain to me how a person's height dictates what kind of person they are?

janmayeno fibbed about his height, but it was all to get closer to giving this girl a taste of her own medicine.

Btw, my boyfriend is the same height as me and I will not let that stop me from rocking a pair of high heels.

According to this girl, short men aren't hot, but heels are. She's assuming she looks good and is better than someone else because of height.

I'm just trying to understand her logic here. It's fine to not be into something, but to bash on it like this?

It's clear janmayeno has a real sore spot, and he's not about to let it go.

At the same time, she's not disagreeing with him.

And there it is. The mic drop, so to speak.

Suddenly, when you swap height for weight, she's offended. She doesn't seem to be picking up on the parallel he's drawing.

Some people have praised janmayeno for what he did, while others can't see why someone else's preferences are such a big deal.

The more I read this story though, the less I'm sure of whose side I'm on.

The comments were divided.

Reddit

One user pointed out there being nothing wrong with having preferences, but it's a bit tasteless to advertise what groups you're not attracted to in your profile. Others saw it as honest and saving time.

Most people were annoyed by her double standard.

Reddit

While janmayeno may have been rude or needlessly aggressive, most people agreed she didn't have a right to get mad about his comments about weight if she didn't get mad about his comments about height.

One user had an issue with her logic.

Reddit

This guy thought that, if anything, she should've put her height limit at even taller to avoid being taller than guys in heels.

What do you think? Is she wrong for not giving shorter guys a chance, or should janmayeno have just swiped left and let it go?
