15 Wholesome Experiences With Strangers I Absolutely Love

Not to sound redundant, but the last three years haven't exactly been a cakewalk. This pandemic has produced unprecedented hard times that have left people feeling lost, alone, and sad.

But just because we're struggling doesn't mean our world is devoid of good. So for a little inspiration to start your day, have a look below and check out these 15 wholesome experiences with strangers I absolutely love.

It's the thought that counts.

"I once did my best to help a lady jump her car in the parking lot before a doctors[sic] appointment. I wasn’t successful and I was super late so I have to go, but when I came outside they were gone and there was a note on my windshield that said “thank you nice lady!”" - Reddit u/Diligent-Courage4660

Redditor schwarzmalerin recalled how one time while they were out cycling, they crashed their bike — causing the chain to come off. A fellow cyclist saw this, came over and lifted the bike, and within 10 seconds had the chain back on and ready to go.

Remember to pay it forward.

It doesn't happen very often, but getting your coffee paid for while you're in the Tim Horton's drive-thru is a feeling unlike any other. The next time you're out and about, try doing this for a random stranger.

A compliment can make someone's day.

Reddit user PrettyBoyBenji was getting the gears from their family after dying their hair hi-liter pink. Feeling low and insecure, they decided to go for a walk. Eventually, they ran into an elderly old lady who remarked how their hair looked just like cotton candy!

Never forget that a little change, can change a lot.

This story warms my heart more than a hot chocolate ever could. It's nice to think that there are people out there who don't take for granted their station in life.

"I was once walking down an empty street late at night alone to find my dog. A stranger who was heading home stopped to help me find my dog and didn't leave until I found him." - Reddit u/swasti13_

Be kind to your neighbors.

If I knew how to bake, this is precisely the kind of thing I would want to do for my neighbors. I wonder how they were able to make the picture of the heart and home?

I'm loving it.

Reddit user WhiplashNinja is a single father who decided to take his kids to McDonald's for a treat. Seeing how well behaved the kids were and noticing that he was alone, a complete stranger came to the table and handed him a $50 bill.

The only reason for giving flowers should be no reason at all.

OK, so clearly I need to move. Not only was this neighbor kind enough to shovel the walkway, but then on top of that they also dropped off fresh cut flowers? Someone is definitely generating some good karma to start the new year.

Let's race!

"There is an older guy that rides his bike the same route as me. Every time we see each other we race. I ride fixed, he's a roadie. We don't even really talk to each other, we just race." - Reddit u/lookssharp

Teachers are just some of the unsung heroes of this pandemic. They work far too hard for far too little pay. A small gesture like this would go a seriously long way as far as improving morale is concerned.

Also, in my experience, bribery is always a good strategy when it comes to improving one's grades.

Don't brush off altruism.

In the winter months, dusting off your car first thing in the morning can be brutal — especially in subzero temperatures. If I ever walked outside and saw someone helping me out in this manner — I'd probably break down and cry.

Nobody should go to bed hungry.

One time, Reddit user pineappledaddy was waiting in line at the grocery store when they realized the woman ahead didn't have enough money to pay for her food. They watched while she tried to remove individual items for a moment before stepping up and agreeing to pay for the whole lot.

Not all heroes wear masks.

Normally, the exact opposite happens to me. I just get through shoveling a mountain of snow and then the plow comes by and leaves a two-foot-high ice wall at the end of the driveway. Clearly, this man is a legend.

There's always a silver lining.

"I was crying dramatically in the rain at a crosswalk over some dumb thing I don’t even remember, and this old man who stopped at the same crosswalk stood next to me and slowly raised his umbrella for me and walked across the road with me." - Reddit u/mouryo
