18 Forgotten Items From The Past That Were Discovered In Modern Times

Who here is a fan of blasts from the past? I sure am. There is something so nostalgic about finding a cool piece that comes with a lot of history. Don't you think?

Well, as it turns out, so do these folks here who discovered amazing items from the past. Check them out and let me know your favorite.

1. These Vintage Gems

"Found old board games while cleaning out my parents' garage out in the country. Clue is still wrapped in plastic," said the Reddit user who discovered this stash.

It looks like someone needs to host a board game night soon!

2. These Floppy Disks

Even though I grew up on floppy disks, I have to admit I've never used one of these before. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you a pair of old 5.25” and 8.5” floppy discs. Nice, huh?

3. These Old Newspapers

Who loves reading old newspapers? Well, how about something from 1917? This person found old newspapers when they were renovating an old apartment. They talk about the German-Austrian invasion of Romania and other WWI topics.

Wow!

4. This Bench

Who else is fascinated by old, cool-looking furniture, huh? Well, if you enjoy that sort of thing, you'll definitely get a kick out of this rattan piece here. Apparently, this is what is called a "gossip bench." How fitting is that? Ha, ha!

5. This Christmas Tree

The person who found this gem has been on the lookout for it for quite some time now. Apparently, these '70s Christmas trees are hard to come by, alright. I'm happy to see they scored this for only $3.

6. This Record Player

Are you into stuff from the '60s? Well, if you are, you'll probably appreciate this nice find here. Somebody found this '60s Zenith clamshell record player in a thrift store for only $20. That's a great score. Am I right?

7. These Radios

Collectors of vintage stuff from the '70s would be thrilled to find these unique radios. I love the color of the second one. What do you think? I think it's a pretty good score, huh? I would be into that.

8. This Old TV

I wish I could score an old TV for a good price or perhaps even free, hee-hee. People have turned them into cool-looking terrariums, so what do you think about that idea? I would love to make one.

9. These Shaving Kits

They don't make razors as good as they used to, huh? So if you were lucky enough to find these old gems, I would hold on to them if I were you. Isn't that so cool or what?

10. This Radio/TV/Cassette Player

Oh my goodness, what the heck is that? I have seen old radios and cassette players but never one that included a TV in its setup. How neat is that? This gem comes from the '70s, alright.

11. This Typewriter

Being a writer, I've always wanted to own an old typewriter. So I was pretty thrilled when I saw that somebody found this gem from around 1914. It's a beauty, isn't it? I love that kind of stuff.

12. This War Gem

"We found war ration books from 1944 inside an old purse in the basement."

Whoa! Can you imagine that? I can. In fact, where I lived in Poland, we did get all kinds of stamps for food and stuff during the communist years. Oh, yeah!

13. This Brew

"A 32-year-old, still sealed bottle of German beer found under my grandparent's sink while cleaning their house out (we're American)."

Something tells me that you shouldn't drink that or if you do, do it at your own risk, ha, ha!

14. This Perfume Bottle

"This was my great grandma's perfume. We suspect it was her mother’s. Says 'Kismet'. Can anyone confirm how old this is?

So apparently, these perfume bottles were popular in the '50s and '60s. Hmm, I wonder what it smells like? Ha, ha!

15. These Film Reels

Check this out: This person stumbled upon old film reels while cleaning up the basement of an old house built in 1903. Do you think there's any chance of being able to see what's on them? I have no idea.

16. This Coca-Cola Set

At first, I was like, "What do we have here?" and then I realized this was a Coca-Cola screwdriver set. Who knew something like this even existed, eh? I definitely didn't. What a cool find, right?

17. These Love Letters

Being a romantic like me, here's something I wish I have found. This person stumbled upon old love letters bound by a string hidden in an old ventilation cavity in a wall. How amazing is that?

18. This Cell Phone

How many phones did you own before your current one? I think I've had about five. But I've never seen one that comes with an optional clip-on chat board for "easy" texting. How about you, huh?

Wow, I have to admit there is some unique stuff here.
