18 Genius Product Designs That Deserve Recognition

There is something to be said about good design that incorporates both function and fashion, no? Well, at least that's what I think. But come on, you must agree with me on that.

When have you ever disliked something that looked cool, and also helped to solve a problem or provide a great purpose? I bet the answer is — never! So let's look at exactly that with these designs.

1. This Sheet Set

I don't know about you, but I'm always confused about how to put the sheets on my bed. So when I see ones that come with directions like these, I wish every company have thought of it. It makes total sense.

2. This Jelly Cup

Wouldn't it be nice if that cup you were drinking from was edible, huh? That would be such a cool feature. You must agree with me on that. Check this out, this one here is made out of jelly, so you can definitely consume it, hehe.

3. This Handy Spoon

Wouldn't it be quite useful to have a metal spoon that didn't fall to the bottom of your cooking pot? What do you know? One actually exists, ha, ha! It comes with a ridge so you can rest it on your pan easily.

4. This Shirt Feature

If you're a glasses wearer like me, you know how annoying it can be whenever they get dirty, especially if you don't have a cloth to clean them. So I think every garment should have one sewn into it like this one here.

5. This Soap Bottle

It's great to see big companies starting to list their ingredients, but this one goes even further than that. Not only do they list them, but they explain what each one of them is used for right on the bottle.

6. This Chair From Ikea

I bet most people know that adjusting the office chair can be a pain. That's why this one from Ikea has housing for the Allen key built right in. I don't think I've ever seen that.

7. This Fragile Package Indicator

It must be annoying when you get a fragile package only to discover that it wasn't handled properly. This indicator here comes in very handy, so you can prove that it was definitely mishandled while in transit.

8. This Custard Packaging

When you buy a yummy custard, you definitely want to make sure you get every last drop out of the package. Am I right? So this one here has a diagram that tells you how to do that. Nice!

9. These Ramen Noodles

Who here loves to munch on tasty ramen noodles? They're good, right? What I also love about this package here is that it comes with a built-in strainer. Isn't that so nifty, eh? It makes things so much easier.

10. This Claw Machine

Isn't it annoying when you try to win a toy for your kid from a claw machine, and then you get nothing? At least this one here gives you the money back if that ever happens. How nice, huh?

11. This Stairwell

I have to admit sometimes stairwells give me a bit of vertigo. So I'm happy to see somebody made sure this one is a lot safer by painting the last step in a different color. I, for one, do appreciate that.

12. This Milk Carton

Don't you think it would be useful to know how much milk is left in that carton? But most of the packaging isn't transparent, so you pretty much have to guess. However, this one has an indicator, and that's exactly what I'm talking about, oh yeah.

13. These Train Station Chargers

I don't know why, but some wall cable chargers are designed in a way that ends up damaging the actual cables. So it's cool to see this upside-down one that totally prevents that. Am I right?

14. This Parking Lot

Have you ever parked your car in an underground parking lot and forgotten where it was? Well, it would be cool if all lots had these reminder cards you could take with you, huh? I like that.

15. This Tire Pressure Gauge

If you ever had to measure your tire pressure, you might have purchased a gauge like this one. However, this company encloses two caps for the nozzles because they realize that they are easily lost.

16. This USB Connector

It's pretty annoying when you have to buy multiple USB connectors with different ports. So I'm happy to see that at least one company recognized it and built on that has both functions right in it.

17. This Oven Feature

How many times have you started cooking and then realized you forgot to put the timer on? It's happened to me on a few occasions. So it's pretty cool that this oven here tells you the cooking time even though the timer isn't on.

18. This Dishwasher Compartment

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a special compartment where you could put your chopsticks inside of your dishwasher, huh? Well, hello there: that's exactly what I see here, and I think it's super cool, no?

Ah, I'm not sure about you, but my heart rejoices when I see cool designs like these.

There's nothing that makes me happier than witnessing good design at its best. I'm glad more companies are taking these like these into consideration. Do you agree with me?
