20 Times People Stumbled On Something Totally Random And Had To Snap A Pic

What's the appropriate action when you see something random and out of the ordinary? If you're anything like me, it's saying, "Huh," and moving on. But if you're smart, you take out your phone and snap a picture. That way, the world can share in your befuddlement.

"My husband took a picture of me as i said farewell to 40, and somehow I was gifted my own rainbow."

Reddit | shell_raiser

I'm not saying that this woman has a magical aura that causes rainbows to materialize out of thin air, but I'm not not saying that, either.

"Man on my Southwest flight tying battery wires together mid flight."

I sincerely hope that this guy is just some kind of tinkerer who has an electrical project they're working on...to clarify, an electrical project that's definitely not a bomb.

"A school bus in Amsterdam."

Reddit | davekmv

I can think of a few reasons for Amsterdam being awesome, but one of them is how prevalent bikes are. It makes sense that a city like Amsterdam would have bike school buses, but this is the first I've seen.

"Someone painted the cement barriers into a giant Toblerone."

Reddit | gunslayerjj

The attention to detail here is something to behold. Someone could have just painted the 'chocolate' sections and gotten the point across, but the packaging takes things to another level.

"Jeb Bush locked his keys in his car and is using a CVS phone to call for help."

Reddit | thenewyorkgod

The next time you think that politicians lived a rarified life up on their high horse, just look at this pic. They're not that different from you or me.

"'Birds aren’t real' conspiracy theory van parked in Lawrence, Kansas."

Reddit | DaFunkJunkie

I'd like to know the TL;DR of this person's conspiracy theory. But I have a feeling that if you asked them, you'd get embroiled in a long explanation that might never end.

"This realistic chicken art in my home town."

Reddit | lewishoodmusic

This was obviously created by a talented artist, and the sheer scale is impressive. But I don't like this one bit. No one wants to feel like they're being watched by a giant chicken.

"My steak looks like America."

Reddit | Outstandable

If you're the patriotic type, you just put your hand over your chest and started humming 'The Star Spangled Banner.' Admit it, there's nothing wrong with it. This photo shows Americana, distilled into a dinner plate.

"What is it then?"

Reddit | Disu7299

Perhaps someone who can speak...uh, whatever language this is can explain how this is Schrödinger's Hammer: a hammer that's also not a hammer. To add to the confusion, it doesn't look like any hammer I've ever seen.

"Some ghostly images left behind on this nickel that’s been trapped in my washing machine for an unknown amount of time."

Reddit | sb326

We think of coins as basically indestructible. After all, people are digging up perfectly preserved Roman coins to this day. But in the end, they're no match for a few spin cycles.

"Flames don't create shadows. I don’t know why I’m surprised by this."

Reddit | crinnoire

OP doesn't know why they're surprised by this, and I also don't know why I'm surprised by this. Maybe there's a scientific explanation, but then again, maybe it's magic.

"Took this picture right as my mom hit the rough part of the road and it came out strange."

Reddit | TheKingOfRooks

Photos can get pretty weird if you jostle the camera right as the shutter goes off. Case in point: this weirdly jiggly photo.

"My dad, a compulsive precisionist, uses measuring tape to divide a baguette in exact thirds."

Reddit | ajyanesp

I really hope for everyone's sake that this whole family is perfectionists. Otherwise, this dad isn't going to take it well if anyone tries to wing it.

"These leaves caught on a rock in a stream."

Reddit | xxCannonBallxx

I'm sure these leaves will get moved off the rock as soon as the flow of the stream shifts slightly, but it's still pretty cool to see them get stuck like this.

"The benches at my local library are books."

Reddit | ronky35

I kind of doubt that these benches are comfortable — I mean, just look at the angles and that concrete. Still, it's cool to see a library so committed to its brand.

"My cat has one little curly whisker."

Reddit | amlight

I wonder if this cat's whisker always grows in curly in that location or if this is just a one-off. It almost looks like it got singed by a candle or something.

"A tree guy came out today...his business cards are made out of wood."

Reddit | shwikman

If your occupation is 'tree guy', it stands to reason that your business cards would be made out of trees — no, not pulp and paper, but actual wood.

"Our refrigerator is supposed to make sphere ice cubes, but instead makes Death Star ice cubes."

Reddit | darkestparagon

Some might see this as a defect in the fridge's ice-making capabilities, while others probably see this as a feature more than a bug.

"An LL Bean Boot just pulled in and parked at the hotel I'm staying at in Massachusetts, USA."

Reddit | Icy_Pudding_5548

I remember staying at a hotel in L.A. one time and the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile pulled up. I don't really have anything to add to this story, aside from the fact that I, too, know the joy of seeing weird vehicles.

"I'm being watched."

Reddit | Atfay-Elleybay

Are these hoods kind of like the blankets you put over a birdcage to convince the birds that it's time to sleep? I don't know, I'm not a horse person. Either way, the end result is unnerving.
