20 Strange Things People Found While Going About Their Business

You really never know what you're going to find while out and about. Sometimes you find something super awesome, other times something kind of frightening. But then there are times when you find something that's just weird.

These people found some pretty strange things out in the world. Luckily for us, they decided to share them. Or, maybe it's unlucky. I don't even know anymore...

"My boyfriend's 24-year-old microwave."

Yeah, it definitely looks like an old microwave. I'm honestly always astonished by how some appliances can last for decades on end, considering I've seen microwaves croak after a couple of years. I guess they really don't make things like they used to anymore.

"Five-day-old hedgehogs."

This is... such a random thing to post to the internet. These hedgehogs are incredibly tiny. And they were literally just born. And there are so many of them. I dunno. It's just such a strange sight to see.

But at the same time, kind of cute.

"We caught a critically endangered sunflower sea star in our crab trap (Orcas Island, WA)."

I can confidently say I've never seen this sea creature in my life. And even though it looks like some kind of alien lifeform, it's at least a little cool. It's the orange, I think. You don't see orange things in the wild that often.

"I captured the night sky and the sunset in the same photo."

This is kind of confusing, even though it actually makes sense when you think about it. That's kind of how sunsets work, after all.

I guess we mostly look toward a sunset, so we never notice what the other side looks like.

"Typo on a San Francisco street name engraving."

I'm sure this has frustrated tens of thousands of people over the years. I get that typos happen from time to time, but when they happen on something permanent, it just feels so odd. There's really no going back for the Golen Gate Bridge.

"Storing this pill bottle requires a forge."

Speaking of typos... yeah, that's pretty messed up. There's no way they didn't accidentally add an extra zero to the end of those temperatures. That's literally hotter than any kitchen oven can get. That's probably hotter than an industrial oven can get. You really would need a forge.

"Saw a guy wearing a carved wooden hat."

I... didn't know you could carve wood so thin, you could wear it. It doesn't seem comfortable, though. Like, it can't be that breathable. And I'd always worry about breaking that thin sheet of wood. Maybe I'm just not fashionable enough to get it.

"A patron I serve wants to cash this in to cover their car maintenance."

I feel like this person really wanted to get rid of that silver bar. But... wouldn't you have to, like, go to a bank or something to exchange that? I get that silver is worth, well, its weight in silver, but this is pretty ridiculous.

"This jack-o-lantern with mold growing from inside."

I can't tell if the mold started growing after the pumpkin got carved, or if it was already there and the carver just rolled with it. Either way, that's probably the scariest thing I'll see this Halloween season.

"This car I came across looks like a squished mini van."

I'm really confused by this skinny car. Can a person even actually fit in there? Because it doesn't even look like it's half as wide as a regular car. Also, I wouldn't want to drive super fast in that thing; the wind would probably knock it over.

"Intricate bricks from ~1940s that I found buried in my yard."

Weird, but cool! I mean, it's pretty strange that they were just buried, but it's actually surprisingly common for old paths and stuff to get buried by new paths and grass and whatnot. It's easier than ripping them up, after all.

"This car was found on a bus shelter in France."

I'd probably be super weirded out if I walked by and found that car. It's... on top of the bus shelter. I literally have no idea how you can even get a car up there like that. It doesn't make any sense.

"I found seven mini Cheetos in one bag. Normal Cheeto for scale."

Sometimes, manufacturing errors result in random tiny Cheetos, or weirdly misshapen candies, or something. But to find not one, but seven tiny Cheetos? That seems pretty strange to me. What was going on in the Cheetos factory that day?

"How my local park is getting rid of invasive plants. Choking them out."

I mean, there really shouldn't be any sympathy for invasive plants. The name says it all; they'll take over ecosystems where they aren't natively found.

Still... I'd be kind of weirded out if I went to a park and found plants with bags on top of them.

"A perfectly shaped tomato."

This tomato is perfect. Like, too perfect. There's something about its perfectly spherical shape and its vibrant red color that just seems wrong. Nature isn't perfect, to the point that when it actually is perfect, it ends up looking pretty unnatural.

"This clock at my school misses a twelve."

There was no reason for this clock to not have a twelve. And yet, it's just sitting there without a care in the world. It's pretty baffling, and also a tiny bit aggravating. I can feel my blood pressure rising just looking at it.

"This tree looks like it has a face. Spotted in Alpine, CA."

I would really love to know what kind of tree this is. Is the bark... supposed to do that? Like, is it naturally occurring, or did it get coated with some sort of wax at some point?

Of course, the fact that it looks like it has a face makes it even weirder.

"Little bit of green in the pavement."

Yeah, I can't really think of any good reason for that tiny patch of green to be there. It's pavement, after all. If it's a road, that green patch could get driven over. If it's just a walkway, people might step on it. So, what's the point?

"A house in northern Germany."

I'm sure that this house isn't actually meant to be lived in. It's probably some kind of art exhibit. A strange one, though.

I wonder if you could actually go inside this house. And if you can, what does the inside look like?

"1984 Coca-cola and Pepsi dispensers from the NASA space cola wars."

My question is, can you actually drink out of those cans? Or are they purely novelty items meant to be collected? Either way, I probably wouldn't open one if I had one. But considering the fact that they're from 37 years ago, that won't be a problem.
