15 Tattoo Cover-Ups We Have No Choice But To Applaud

Every tattoo enthusiast knows that the most important part of getting inked is finding the right artist. The second crucial aspect is the type of design you choose. And the third thing to keep in mind is the location of the intended piece.

All these can really influence how well your tattoo will turn out. The following tattoos failed on all fronts, and that's why a cover-up was the only way to go.

1. This Awesome Half-Sleeve

I'm not really sure what this original tattoo was supposed to be, but it clearly had to go, lol. I'm so glad to see that this person chose an amazing half-sleeve to cover it up with here.

2. This Switcheroo

Let's just throw a snake with an explosion next to it on your hand. Ha, ha, this sounds like an idea that wasn't thought out. The fixed tattoo is definitely more like it. I dig the whole design of it here.

3. This Blob

Oh my goodness. Was this original tattoo supposed to be a black rose? It pretty much turned into just a big black blob. I'm so glad there are talented tattoo artists that can fix something as awful as this.

4. This Simple Idea

As you can see, a tattoo cover-up doesn't have to be too elaborate. A great artist can turn even the simplest design into something beautiful. This cover-up here is definitely more like it. Don't you agree?

5. These Beautiful Flowers

What did I tell you? Finding the right artist is the key. Otherwise, you may be facing a faded tattoo a few years down the road. This fixed tattoo here looks so much better now.

6. This Easy Fix

Guys, word to the wise, never put any woman's name on your body unless it's your mom or your wife. It's not always so easy to fix a tattoo. So consider yourself warned.

7. This Work Of Art

There's nothing worse than a terribly drawn and faded tattoo. Imagine being stuck looking at this mess for the rest of your life? Um, no thanks, ha, ha. This cover-up here is giving me all the right feels, though.

8. This Rescued Bird

Bird lovers will definitely appreciate this one. This original design was tough to execute as it was mostly all black. So I commend this talented tattoo artist for taking on this impressive rescue job. They did it right.

9. This Lovely Fix

I can't help but feel bad for this pitiful original tattoo job. I mean, what were they thinking here, huh? That sun and moon looked warped. Thankfully, this lady here put her trust in someone who knew what they were doing.

10. This 'Wow' Piece

Yikes! Was this original tattoo a joke or something? That's what it looks like to me, at least. I can't believe somebody was stuck with this abomination on their arm. Now, they must be in love with this new design, huh?

11. This Amazing Job

OMG, to say that I'm impressed by this fixed tattoo here would be an understatement. I liked the original face, but now this design really pops here, no? I'd say it's pretty much 10 times better.

12. This Fixed Ocean Scene

Oh, wow, that's quite a change here for you, huh? I feel bad for this person who was stuck with this badly drawn shark tattoo. What they got instead is an awesome work of art.

13. This Humorous Take

How do you fix a badly drawn tattoo and still keep your humor intact? This is how, ha, ha! Now, this cover-up is something that this person will be proud to show off. I'm totally digging it, hehe.

14. This Incredible Work

Wow, I'm totally speechless looking at this stunning tattoo cover-up. I have no idea what the original design intended to be, but who cares? I can't stop starring at this beauty here. I'm in awe, you guys.

15. This Cute Fix

How adorable is this cover-up? I think any Stitch fans out there would love this design. I'm so glad the tattoo artist was able to find a clever way to fix the original ink job.

Oh my goodness, who knew that a cover-up could be so much better than the original tattoo?

These pictures here are the perfect examples of what a great artist is capable of fixing. But that doesn't mean you should get a bad tattoo to start with, okay?
