30 Slightly Creepy Pics That Got Some Major Buzz

It's not hard to see why these * ahem * spooky photos received all sorts of attention from the internet. They have just the right amount of creep mixed with intrigue to leave viewers full of questions.

We certainly have plenty of inquiries about these questionable images and we're sure you will too. So if you're looking for a slight scare to spice up your day these pics are just a scroll away.

This hallway that looks like it's out of a Stanley Kubrick's film.

If this long, narrow corridor feels oddly reminiscent of that tricycle scene in The Shining, you're not alone. The Redditor who snapped a picture of the hallway in their dentist's office did so because it reminded them of the iconic corridor in The Stanley Hotel.

But not everyone was so convinced of the photo. Others were harsh to point out that the photo isn't as centered as the perfectly symmetrical shot Kubrick achieved in his hit film.

"HOW could you POSSIBLY recognize this as a Kubrick-like hallway and not even TRY to take a Kubrick-like picture?" asks user bulletproofvan.

Honestly, the hall looks extremely menacing to us, even if it isn't completely balanced.

The remnants of a grocery store in this library.

What's so scary about a library seeking temporary shelter in a vacant grocery store while its original building undergoes a renovation? Perhaps, the fact that novels are literally being store in refrigerators.

This could make any book lover experience sweaty palms at the thought of pages being tarnished by shelves that once held frozen products. As for Redditors, they couldn't help but slip in a few jokes, per usual.

"Unsolved crimes section on the left. Cold cases…" writes flibz-the-destroyer, and we'll admit the comment was quite clever.

A lone knight in a park.

Let's get real for a second, if any of us saw a person dressed head-to-toe in medieval armor we'd be a little creeped out. Of course, the concern would be paired with an equal amount of confusion.

And we'd be asking questions like: how does someone even get their hands on the metallic armor in the first place? Or, why would someone feel the need to venture out into the world after getting their hands on the armor?

No hike is complete without a medieval sighting.

Why have just one sad-looking knight by their lonesome, when you can take the whole medieval gang on a hike?

Clearly, these people that appear to have stumbled out of the 15th Century got the memo. According to Reddit, the group is likely part of the Society for Creative Anachronism, or better known by its acronym SCA.

Those in the SCA participate in safe, historical combats and recreational games that take place all over the country.

Flies swarming a pump at a gas station.

Yeah, we'd start looking for another nearby gas station if we stumbled upon this bug-infested pump.

"Can someone tell me where this is… so I can make sure to never step foot in that place," asks a Redditor under the horrific post.

And we'd like the answer too so that we could also make sure to never go near the area.

This nightmare-fueled squash.

"This pumpkin at the supermarket that looks like a haunted face," writes the Redditor who posted the disturbing photo to the internet.

The user is certainly downplaying just how blood-curdling this demonic squash is. Those beady eyes and endless rows of teeth are enough to make us want to skip the veggie aisle the next time we're strolling through a grocery store.

These decades-old cat whiskers stored in a jar.

On a scale of one to 10, how creepy is it to gather your cat's whiskers that have fallen out over the years and store them proudly in a glass jar? We'd argue a solid 11. But surprisingly, the majority of Reddit would likely disagree.

One user even went so far as to say the whiskers bring good fortune.

"That's a lot of good luck you've got there! My dad had one of his cat's whiskers taped into the inside of his helmet when he was in Vietnam," they wrote.

Well...you do learn something new every day.

The stalker deer that follows a dog owner and her pup on their nightly walks.

"He can be a little creepy. One time he ran way ahead of us and disappeared into the night," writes the Redditor who shared the photo of the scary hoofed mammal online. "When I got home, he was silently waiting for us in the backyard."

Now that's a big yikes!

An ultrasound of twins that resembles the face of an alien.

Ultrasound pictures are a beautiful memento of life blossoming in the womb. But as sentimental as they are, we can't help but think they're also a little eerie.

Don't believe us, take a look at exhibit A: this photo of twins that appear to be the size of two kidney beans.

However, it's the beans we're staring at. It's the overall image that resembles a cross between a wide-eyed alien and Jack Skellington from The Nightmare before Christmas.

The spooky coincidence of these almost identical license plates.

"Two 666 license plates in a row," shares the user who posted the eerie photo to the internet. And naturally, Reddit did what it does best, sharing impeccable puns.

"'Man, the traffic was hell today,'" writes one user.

"These cars have great sin-ergy!" says another.

But our favorite is simple, yet effortlessly iconic: "I'd say this is the 'highway to hell.'"

This buried crypt uncovered during a church renovation.

If the above images have yet to give you any heebie-jeebies, perhaps this literal crypt unearthed during the remodeling of a 130-year-old church might just do the trick.

The metallic burial coffin with a circular, glass window was actually quite common in the 19th Century. Known as the Fisk Metallic Burial Case, the human-shaped coffins, fortunately, didn't catch on for very long.

And just a glimpse at their creepy design gives us a clear reason as to why.

The bear that decided to crash a picnic party.

Admittedly, this little bear that just wanted to join in on a lovely lunch in the park isn't all that creepy. It's actually kind of sad that the little fella who is sitting so politely at the table looks very woeful all by its lonesome.

That being said, it is certainly a scary experience to have to evacuate a cookout for a furry predator who let his 'hanger' take over.

A ghostly portrait of three witches in a tree.

"The rain revealed a portrait of the witches buried under this tree," says the poster of the spooky photo.

Are there witches really buried under the tree? The answer is a probable no.

But are we going to take a chance and inspect the ominous tree ourselves for concrete proof? Absolutely not! We'll be keeping a very, very far distance from it, thank you very much.

This perfect swirl belly button.

Sorry, but if we had to see this spiral belly button, so do you.

It's actually quite a rare umbilical cord scar that deserves as much acceptance as any other type of navel, even if it's still pretty spooky to look at.

The massive pirate ship cruising around a neighborhood.

Well...this certainly isn't something you see every day. The humongous ship on wheels somehow radiates the same energy as the lone knight sitting in a park.

We mean that in the sense that the sight alone isn't actually eerie. It's only when you begin to question how exactly the idea came to fruition that you start to become a little concerned — both for the ship's owner and your own safety.

Are they chocolate sprinkles or a swarm of black ants?

Fortunately, we can say the sprinkles on this bun are in fact chocolate. Phew!

But we're not out of the woods just yet. The eeriness of this innocent bun comes from the original poster of the photo themselves who compared the bread to a tardigrade.

The eight-legged creature, viewable only under a microscope, is just as spine-chilling as its name suggests.

And comparing the horrid micro-animal to a piece of sweet bread is enough to make us want to cut buns out of our diets entirely.

The caterpillar that looks like a snake head.

Reddit | kurdapya100

Indeed it does! But the caterpillar is just that — a harmless caterpillar. Known as a Hawk Moth, the insect uses its uncanny snake head disguise to ward off any potential predators.

Take about a pretty genius, albeit creepy, self-defense strategy.

This shark tooth embedded in asphalt.

Finding shark teeth encased in asphalt is more common than you'd think. It was apparently such a frequent find for one Redditor that they had a thriving collection.

"I used to go around my neighborhood with a butter knife and chip out shark teeth for my collection lol," user Karma122194 shares.

It truly begs the question of how many shark bones we've likely walked across without even realizing they're below us!

Nope. Absolutely not. No thanks.

I get it. Sometimes you want to do something different with your snowman. Carrot noses and scarves only go so far.

But please, please, please never put false teeth in a snowman ever again, thanks.

An odd choice of bust to adorn an NYC building entrance.

But it makes more sense if you know that this building is owner by Lloyd Kaufman, who is the founder of Troma Entertainment.

Their claim to fame is the Toxic Avenger, which explains why he greets visitors.

Props to the victims who find the peeping tom funny, but also want him to stop.

Like, no one wants some kid to be looking through their windows with a telescope. That's creepy.

But, something about how the kid is in a blue polo and so...serious about the act makes it funny. So the sign is equally funny.

How to scare away your customers with four mannequins.

The girl's face is pretty much exactly how mine looked upon seeing this pic.

Apparently, if you want to be terrified in real life, you can find this creepy family in a store in Okinawa, Japan.

No, this isn't proof of alien life.

It might be proof that this iron has rarely been used, though, since that's impressively reflective.

Still, it's a pretty cool picture!

These...lawn ornaments will also double as visitor deterents.

It almost works because the dogs have goofy cartoon faces, but it just misses the mark in just the right way to roll right on over into creepy AF.

You may or may not find statues of small children generally creepy.

But I think we can all agree that a statue of a small child with a hole in its head that has since become home to a wasp nest is the stuff of nightmares.

A spooky cauldron dug up in a forest.

As much as we'd like to imagine the slew of spells being brewed in this cauldron, Reddit was quick to shut down the belief that this pot was used by witches. What a bummer!

Instead, as one Redditor pointed out, the cauldron looks more like a cast iron wash pot which was a common and very valuable wedding gift up until the Second World War.

Its uses were believed to be completely versatile.

"They were used for everything," user Quint27A says. "Washing clothes, making soap, scalding chickens and hogs, they were sometimes the most valuable possession a family had."

If you told me this was a prop stolen from the set of Jim Henson's *Labyrinth*, I'd believe you.

They are actually guarana fruit. Which means they are real things that exist in the real world.

And I am not okay with that knowledge.

Nothing to see here. Just a head in a cage.

Maybe it's a leftover Halloween decoration?

Or maybe the homeowners are just goths with a sense of humor. Either way, I'm not knocking on that door.

This plane had an extra passenger aboard.

The person wasn't actually alive, but they were still a passenger none-the-less.

And according to one Redditor who grew up in a funeral home, flying caskets overseas on commercial flights is actually quite common.

They followed the statement up by saying that they even frequently picked up bodies from the airport when they were younger. Wowza!

You mean you don't have a drying rack for spare...faces?

This makes a whole lot more sense when you learn that this clean up space is found in a first aid training class. So these are the faces of the dummies, which need to be sanitized between lessons on mouth to mouth.
