Mom Transforms Spare Room Into Brilliant 'Woman Cave' And It's Incredible

When we move into a home with our partners, it's hard to find a space that is all for us and all our own. With big families taking over the common spaces, sharing storage with our children and partner, and almost everyone touching our stuff — we need a space that is just for us and only us.

Some ladies use their closets as their sanctuary filled with shoes, clothes, and bags. When they need some "me" time, they go in and browse over their wardrobe and their incredible shoe collection.

But, we know that standing in a closet all day is straight-up silly.

We can't hide in the closet, or the bathroom, or even the pantry all day to get some peace. Every mom deserves a safe space in their home to have some fun.

So mom Carla Lister decided to create her very own space for herself in her home.

Carla said that she was feeling "spontaneous" and began to create her little "mom cave" in her home—which only cost her $400. She lives in Manchester with her six-year-old son, Tyler.

The entire room took her only one week to complete and we can't even believe it.

Originally, the room was a spare bedroom for when guests would come over to spend the night. But, the momma wanted to make a little space for her to unwind.

The bar was easy to assemble.

The innovative 38-year-old mom used units from IKEA to create the bar and covered it with silver exposed brick wallpaper from The Range. She also decorated with fun signs and inspirational sayings.

The wallpaper easily pasted onto the bar and the backsplash wall.

Carla decided to make the room pop with colors and shine, and she made it so easy to do that you can DIY your own mini mom cave if you want to mimic her.

The bar has drinks, style, and color.

Carla said, "It came to me last week. I was Hoovering up and I thought this room doesn't get used, so I'd go for it in here. I did it all by myself. I used an IKEA cube unit and MDF for the bar area. And I used the remaining wallpaper to cover it," in an interview with The Daily Mirror.

Apparently, her own sister is jealous.

Carla added, "My sister couldn't believe it, she said she didn't think it would look like that. She thought the results were unbelievable." Clearly, her sister is right.

Carla is so excited to have friends over.

She said she's "very proud" of her bar and cannot wait to have people over to celebrate. And, her son wants to even use the room for his own friends and "quiz night."

People online are super jealous.

Many people on Facebook commented saying they wanted their own bar like this. One user said, "I don't know about anybody else but I'm soooo jealous." And, another said, "I love this I'd be in it all the time with that bar."

If you're looking for a solid way to save money and have fun with your gal pals, invest in a mom cave.

Mom caves may seem like an impossible innovation, but, they're easy to make and not to mention inexpensive. A week of work for a lifetime of memories!
