The Internet Loves Wiley, The Dalmation With A Heart On His Nose

I'm currently dog-sitting for my family which means that there are currently four dogs running around and fighting over every toy or scrap of attention.

It's exhausting and there always seems to be one or more wanting to be let outside, but okay fine, I love them anyway.

It's really impossible to stay mad at them.

I imagine that it's particularly hard to ever get mad at Wiley the Dalmatian, no matter what shenanigans he gets up to.

Look at that nose! He says he loves you every time you see that snoot.

Must. Boop. Snoot.

No wonder Wiley has more than 124K followers on Instagram so far. Seeing that face scroll across your feed can only improve your day.

His human, Lexi Smith, chose him from a litter of 11 puppies.

But the distinctive nose was just a bonus.

The heart was there, but Dalmatian markings change as they age, so she focused on choosing the puppy with the right personality.

She told Bored Panda that according to the breeder, "all he did was sleep, snuggle, and eat, so we already had a lot in common."

Honestly...same.

That sleepy puppy grew into a bundle of energy, but there are plenty of great hiking trails in Colorado where he can frolic.

"But when he gets sleepy, he really, really LOOOOVES to snuggle," Lexi added.

Wiley also gets tons of attention when out and about.

Some people recognize him from his Instagram while others just notice the nose itself, but for many, simply seeing a Dalmatian is a novelty.

I see this a lot with my sister's corgi. They're so rare in our area that he's always the center of attention.

Lexi never expected him to become an internet star.

She's always loved photography and what better subject than an adorable new puppy?

By putting his pics in a separate account from her own, it was a way to create a timeline of his growth and personality.

"I never in a million years could have imagined it would be what it is now," she said.

"And it’s STILL GROWING. I am constantly amazed, shocked, but mostly so grateful. It has been a fun little adventure, that’s for sure."

Though he's now 54lbs of stubborn, which is common for the breed.

But Lexi doesn't mind.

"He has the best heart, and I’m not talking about the one on his nose. He loves everyone he meets and is always so excited to make new friends."
