Makeup Artist Touches Up Women's Self-Done Looks To Show The Difference It Can Make

Most people have a signature look when it comes to putting on their own makeup. Whether it's black eyeliner, some blush, a specific color of eye shadow, or lip gloss — women have their go-to products. When we go out, we love getting all done up with our makeup.

But, one makeup artist is showing women how a subtle makeup can still look absolutely stunning. Julia Ismailova, a Russian makeup artist, took women who already had their own makeup done and redid it, showing them what a difference using less can make.

From dark to glowing.

Taking a little bit of highlight to the cheeks and smudging out her eyeliner made her eyes look sparkling and shiny. Her dark lip was replaced with a brighter color and it totally looks gorgeous.

A little contour goes a long way.

Adding a bit of black eyeliner gives her eyes some more life and shape, but the contour and blush really makes this skin pop. Her cheek bones are glowing and accentuated.

Stunning!

Many of us like to opt for dark colors just because it is our style. But, switching it up can sometimes give us a fresh look we never knew we could have.

What a difference.

While it's subtle, one can see that the darker makeup hid her glowing features underneath all of that brown and black. This "after" look plays to her strengths!

Subtle, yet glowing.

Julia tells Bored Panda that she's a fan of minimal makeup. She "... is a fan of simple makeup tricks that don’t change natural facial features."

Small changes make a big difference.

Julia doesn't use heavy makeup in these transformations. For the after photos, she usually grooms the eyebrows, applies foundation, and adds some blush. Small amounts of makeup can go a long way.

Naturally beautiful.

Makeup happens to be a huge part of many women's lives. In fact, one in three women refuse to leave the house without makeup and six out of 10 women say they never go to work without cosmetics.

Transformation!

When it comes to romance, women feel more comfortable seeing their partners with makeup on. One out of 10 women say they don't let their significant other see them without makeup. Also, half of women feel more confident with makeup.

Playing up her features.

Using blush and foundation subtly to highlight your best facial features can give you a new look that will make you blown away. It's all about knowing your bone structure and angles.

Less is more sometimes.

Taking away from the darker and bolder looks can make us look a bit more youthful and glowing. While it doesn't have to be always, switching up our looks for different events is fun.

That glow!

Julia said she is interested to see if the ladies she has done makeovers on will keep up her advice and tips, or if they will stick to their regular routine of doing makeup.

Foundation can bring out your best features.

Using foundation to cover some dark spots and circles can help set the base for some highlighting and contouring. Even some blush can help bring out those cheek bones better.

Changing your hair can help, too!

Parting your hair a different way than you normally do can bring out a new version of yourself. Maybe if you've always done a middle part, try out a side part instead.

Love that lip color!

Trying new things can be a bit scary but you never know what will look good on you until you try it out!

That glow though.

Using foundation to bring out the glow in your skin can work wonders for you. Aligning that glow to your cheek bones can help create a drastic look that glows and pops.

Blush and lip liner do the trick.

Sometimes, a bold lip color is necessary to pull a whole look together. The key to this makeup look is to balance the bright lipstick with soft eye makeup.

Love this look.

Taking some of that darker eyeliner and smudging it a bit gives it a softer touch. Blush on those cheeks brings out a subtle yet gorgeous highlight, too.

Small changes make all the difference!

Just brushing out those eyebrows and adding a small touch of gloss and blush can bring your look to a new light.

Beautifully done.
