Woman Converts Her Van Into A Home To Live Out The Dream Of Traveling With Her Dogs

Sydney Ferbrache is the most relatable person in the world. She realized she could make her dream of traveling with her dogs full-time a reality, and I'm not going to lie — I'm a little jealous.

Meet Sydney Ferbrache.

She's a 24-year old full-time van lifer who travels the country with her dogs, Ella and Pearl!

She saved up her money to invest and remodel in her 2017 Ford Transit van, and it's gorgeous.

She runs a blog documenting her journey.

Called Divine on the Road, Sydney provides every resource you'd need to start your own life on the road.

The blog is also how she makes her money to keep travelling!

All of this started after she dumped her boyfriend.

As a couple, they had been travelling in a refitted Mercedes van. However, when their goals didn't align anymore, she dumped him, got a dog, and saved up for her own adventures.

We. Stan.

Finally, meet Ella!

She started her van journey with Sydney when she was still a puppy!

That was back in 2018. These days, Ella is much bigger — and she has a new friend!

Meet Pearl!

Sydney was just supposed to foster Pearl while she looked for her forever home...but that forever home wound up being with Sydney and Ella.

"Because how could I not, just look at her." She said on Instagram. Agreed.

Together, they travel the U.S.

Ella, Pearl, and Sydney have traveled to 20 different states already.

Now, they're planning a bigger trip: all the way up the west coast, straight up through British Columbia to Alaska!

She loves to learn while on the road.

"The thing I love most about traveling is getting to experience different people and cultures. Nature is insanely beautiful and getting to spend time outside every day is nothing but a gift," she told Bored Panda.

And she works hard to respect the different cultures she encounters.

"However, getting to spend time on native lands and learn about the people who live there from those very people is the best learning experience I could ask for."

As wonderful as it is, however, it does have its drawbacks.

After her van was in an accident, she struggled to find a place to stay.

"So I was literally homeless and had to stay in really cheap motels that allowed dogs."

Despite the struggle, she wouldn't do anything differently.

"I’ve never woken up once in the last year and not felt like this isn’t exactly what I should be doing. I don’t foresee anywhere in the near future where I want to stop, but I also don’t want to hold myself to this idea that I have to be on the road."

This is life for now.

"I always just say it’s a three-to-five-year plan. It’s been one year, maybe two years from now I’ll re-evaluate and make sure I’m still happy and this is something I still want to do."

And she has quite a pack behind her!

Sydney has made quite a few friends on the road. She meets up with a friend who has nine dogs that he's rescued, so Ella and Pearl have no shortage of friends to play with!

As for friends? She treasures them deeply.

She's formed a bond with many other people who live that van life.

She has a unique perspective as a woman travelling solo, which she talks about a lot on her podcast!

At the end of the day, she has an amazing life.

And she works hard on her blog to maintain it!

"I still work every single day. My work just looks a lot different now."

And her view? Well, it looks great from here.
