The funny thing about weird stuff is that you literally never know when to expect it. You could've had a day full of oddities and still end up surprised by some random thing you find.

Needless to say, I don't think anyone was expecting these strange sights. But I'm still super glad people decided to take photos of them for the internet.

"This pickle is surprised."

A pickle slice on a burger with holes in it that make it look surprised.
reddit | thosewirelips

I have to know, who was surprised first? The pickle, or the person who opened their sandwich and found it? I guess like most mysteries out there, we may never get to know the answer.

"Discarded forsythia bouquet beautifying a Manhattan street."

A plant growing out of a city trashcan.
reddit | Artane_33

I don't think anyone ever expects to find a whole plant growing out of a trashcan. Especially not in such a busy place like Manhattan. But hey, I guess stranger things have happened.

"The person who lived in my apartment before me planted pineapples."

Two pineapple plants next to a building. Each one has a pineapple growing in the centre.
reddit | Early_Gold_9715

I've seen plenty of pineapple plants before, but they always weird me out. I guess you just don't really expect them to look the way they do — or to be growing...there.

"Old garden stone broke and revealed Mary and Jesus inside."

A broken lawn ornament featuring a frog and Mary/Jesus.
reddit | prospermommy

These are such... different things, put together in one lawn ornament. It's like some kind of secret Christian message, only I don't know what it's actually trying to tell us.

"Thing I saw on a walk."

A large, yellow frond of some kind of plant, sticking out from the end of a long, rectangular fountain in a semi-wooded space.
reddit | bigmark9a

I like the fact that OP called it a "thing," because I, too, have no idea what the heck it is. Some kind of weird, tall plant in a weird, long fountain, I guess.

"There was a billiard ball inside of my bocce ball."

A purple 4 ball on the inside of a larger, blue ball.
reddit | TheRealPinballWizard

I doubt OP was looking to break their bocce ball in the first place, but who would've expected a whole different ball from a whole different game to be in there?

"Funny sweatshirt I saw today."

The back of a man on a motorcycle whose shirt reads, "My daughter needs a step mom."
reddit | lunardownpour

I wonder if that shirt has helped this guy on his stepmom search. Judging by the fact that he still has it on, I'm gonna go ahead and say it probably hasn't. At least, not yet.

"It snowed last week in Upstate NY. Due to the odd weather conditions, the snow became a sheet and slid down my windshield making a perfect wave."

A curled sheet of snow along a car windshield.
reddit | noximbeats

This is strange and satisfying at the same time. I literally can't take my eyes off it.

"Found a toilet full of vegetables at Pearson International Airport."

A public toilet full of mixed vegetables.
reddit | Halukinate

Some Reddit commenters pointed out that someone probably had those vegetables in their luggage, and had to dump them before they got stopped at customs. Either way, not something you'd expect to find in a bathroom.

"This house in my neighborhood had a bunch of vultures on it today."

A group of large, dark birds sitting on a house roof.
reddit | classicdad

Weird, and also kind of concerning. According to the Reddit comments, the vultures might be there because they're attracted to a gas leak. That... doesn't sound good, if true.

"Spooky forest trash found on my walk."

A faded, deflated smiley face emoji foil balloon.
reddit | hamamelis-virginiana

I really don't like the way the eyes on that emoji balloon have faded. Almost like they've been... scratched out.

I'm kind of convinced there's an evil spirit or ax murderer in that forest.

"My dad owns a 200 year old house, just found an old bible in the attic."

An incredibly old bible that looks too delicate to read.
reddit | FarmerBradford

Apparently, finding a random, old bible isn't as uncommon as you'd think. Especially in super old homes. But it's still not something you'd expect to find, like, ever.

"My fiancé and I both got the same fortunes."

Two fortunes with the exact same message about romance.
reddit | KannaIsntThicc

I've read quite a few fortune cookie fortunes in my day, and I've never had two of them give the same fortune in one sitting. Someone at the factory was too busy printing too many of the same ones.

"Family in the hospital parking deck can’t remember where they parked."

A family of Canada geese walking through a parking garage.
reddit | Lummp

I'd say OP should stop and offer to help them find their way, but they're Canada geese. Better stay away unless you want a finger bitten off.

"This shadow of an oil rig on the clouds."

The shadow of an oil rig tower behind clouds in a dark sky.
reddit | Steevo_no_jackass

Cool, and also very creepy. I have no idea what kind of weather/lighting conditions you need to get that giant shadow, but at least it's an interesting sight to see.

"Sunlight reflected off this garbage can."

A shadow surrounding a small trash bin that looks like a citrus peel.
reddit | knightelite

Sometimes, when the lighting in your room is juuuust right, you end up with really weird shadows/reflections. Like the citrus wedge that's surrounding the trash can in this picture. So weird, but so cool!

"Mangoes in the supermarket."

Mangoes with eye stickers on them in a supermarket.
reddit | bella2barnett

I love it when mangoes have those little eye stickers on them. They look like cute little birds! Weirdly enough, though, that doesn't make it weird or uncomfortable to take one home and eat it.

"I put a glass of water in the freezer for a few minutes and ended up with an ice cup."

A piece of ice in the shape of the glass it came out of.
reddit | VoidwardenAlex

I guess OP's freezer temperature is, like, really cold. Or maybe something else caused this ice to freeze in a perfect glass shape. Either way, cool!

"Cut into a tomato and a tomato farm was growing in it."

A tomato that's been cut open, revealing sprouts in the seeds.
reddit | BreakfastBeerz

Yeah, that happens from time to time. I don't think anyone is ever expecting their tomato to be on its way to growing all new plants, though.

"I think I have a new roommate."

A bear sleeping on an outdoor couch.
reddit | TheUniverseOrNothing

Oh, okay. It's a bear sleeping on someone's porch furniture. Nothing to see here, people.

I, uh, think the best thing to do is stay inside and call people who specialize in getting rid of bears.
