There's really nothing better than living in the here and now. Except, of course, living in the past (just a little). I mean, there's a reason why people tend to cling to nostalgia, right?

Maybe you just miss the days where you didn't have to worry about mortgages and bad news. Maybe you wish life was simpler. But if you're part of the millennial generation, you're probably about to be hit with a wave of nostalgia.

"This storage box for your floppy disks."

A floppy disc storage container.
reddit | [deleted]

I remember we had one of these and never used it to store floppy disks. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was used for loose CDs at one point. Or maybe small toys or something.

"Painting with these things in school."

A case containing dried watercolur paints of different colours.
reddit | Grande_Oso_Hermoso

Fun fact: these paints aren't good at all. Of course, most watercolors are going to be water featuring a little bit of color, but these ones are especially bad. I can't believe they let us make messes with these things in school.

"The Coin Game at Taco Bell."

A coin machine game in which a coin falls from various platforms to the bottom.
reddit | Otherwise_Basis_6328

These things were pretty much everywhere at one point, not just Taco Bell. But man, I remember begging my parents for spare change just so I could see a coin... do nothing, really.

"You were either trying to pull it off the car window without breaking it, or picking the little pieces of dirt off of it."

Four sticky plastic hands with tails in different colours.
reddit | dancebabe1013

These things were basically a must for long car rides, or the doctor or dentist's office waiting room. So much fun, you know, until the tail broke off from being used too much.

"Red vinyl car seats with only waist seat belts."

Red leather car seats featuring an old-fashioned belt buckle for the seat belt.

We never had a car like this, but I remember seeing those seatbelts way back in the day. I can't believe cars were ever allowed to have seatbelts like that.

This is definitely for the younger Millennials out there, but man. I can actually hear this picture. What a time.

"Asking your mom at Blockbuster if you could buy candy/popcorn and her telling you 'no, we have snacks at home.'"

The interior of a Blockbuster store.
reddit | WackySchlock

I think that was a childhood rite of passage, having to make it through the snack section without buying anything. Though, for a while there, my family's tradition was to rent a movie and take home a pack of Twizzlers.

"Kit Kat with tinfoil wrapping."

An older package for a KitKat bar, which features visible foil.
reddit | UnsupportedDevice

I'm not the biggest KitKat fan in the world, but this picture is still conjuring some pretty old memories in my brain. I'm not gonna lie, I kind of like this better than the current packaging.

"Putting your fingers in these lunch tables."

A hand on top of an outdoor table made with a metal chainlike design.
reddit | Nickyjtjr

For me, this reminds me of going to amusement parks as a kid. I'm pretty sure every one I went to had this kind of table in it.

I bet kids today still do this, though.

The one way to make sure your Pringles tasted better.

A pringle-shaped container with a pink, sparkly plastic lid.
reddit | cobbwebb9891

I never had one of these myself, but I wasn't afraid to ask my classmates for Pringles out of their little Pringles containers. They always tasted better like this for some reason.

If you're a nerd today, this could be one of the reasons why:

The Brain Quest trivia deck.
reddit | Billowingclouds

This is definitely one of those things you'd pick up to kill time, and then suddenly you've spent hours looking at all the cards. I'm betting this translated into a love for Jeopardy for a lot of people.

"Those bright green volume bars."

The green volume bars that would've been at the bottom of an older TV.
reddit | Skinnerlikesdogfood

As much as I love watching TV in high definition, there's a lot that I miss about those older box TVs. The green volume bar really hit different.

"Who else is 'video games only worked on Channel 3' years old?"

A TV set to channel three, showing nothing but static.
reddit | cucuzza

This is another thing about older TVs that I kind of miss. Nothing made you feel more like a tech genius as a kid than plugging in the multicolored AV ports and switching your TV to channel 3 to play a Nintendo game.

"I know you all remember the Spacemaker pencil box!"

A Spacemaker pencil case with a clear, hard plastic top and a purple bottom.
reddit | FatSloppyPecker

I bet if I look hard enough, I could probably find mine in storage somewhere. These things were honestly the best! You could fit so many colored pencils in there!

The greatest snack food known to man:

I'm not even kidding. The one with the rainbow icing is probably one of my favorite things in the world. Too bad they disappeared for a while, but at least they're back now!

"Burger King Kids Club."

This is another one of those pictures that's pulling memories out of my head that I didn't even know I had. Man, Burger King used to be such a great place to go...

This folder that's peak '90s.

A very 90s folder that reads, "save our planet." It shows an illustration of the earth in different neon colours, and the letters in "planet" each have different, brightly coloured patterns.
reddit | WW_III_ANGRY

It's amazing how a folder that's definitely trying to bring attention to global warming/climate change is so unabashedly '90s. You really had to be there.

"But are you this old?"

A screenshot of a computer operating on Windows 98, showing a folder dropdown from programs, to accessories, to games.
reddit | daeron187

Yes. I definitely remember going into the games folder and attempting to play Free Cell and Minesweeper, but being way too young to actually understand how the games worked. Fun times.

"Remember playing with the ashtray in the backseat of a car when you were a kid?"

An old, fabric car seat with a cigarette holder attached to the back.
reddit | jsakic99

I have to admit, I don't remember this one. I guess our family car didn't have this. It did, however, have windows you had to roll down (even though automatic already existed by then). I... don't miss it.

"The fury I would experience at the mall kiosk…"

A stereogram image poster depicting a beach/sea scene. When looked at correctly, a whale, dolphin, some fish, and palm trees are visible.
reddit | sparkilini

When I was a kid, I figured out how to see the pictures in stereogram images, and I used to show off to my friends. Fun times.

If you can't figure out what's in this one, there's a whale, dolphin, some fish, and palm trees in there.
