Bella Thorne Was Slammed For Complaining Amid The California Mudslide Disaster

Diply 12 Jan 2018

Earlier this week, residents of Southern California were affected by a regional mudslide. The tragedy left thousands of people displaced and at least 17 dead.

The natural disaster also buried several major roadways in mud, including the 101 Freeway in Santa Barbara, which Bella Thorne found herself trying to navigate following the event.

Shortly after the mudslide occurred, Bella attempted to use the 101 Santa Barbara to reach her boyfriend's concert tour.

However, due to the mudslide, the freeway had closed. Frustrated, Bella tweeted her disappointment.

Actor Rob Lowe then screenshotted Bella's tweet and posted it on his Instagram, captioning it, "This attitude is why people hate celebrities/Hollywood. Bella, I’m sorry you were inconvenienced. We will try to move out our dead quicker."

Rob Lowe is a resident of Montecito, an area of Southern California heavily affected by the disaster.

Others who saw the tweet were also upset by Bella's comments.

They stated that it was selfish of Bella to complain about a closed freeway when people's lives had been lost in the events related to the closure.

Once Bella realized why the freeway had been closed, she deleted the tweet.

Apparently, Bella was unaware of the mudslide in Southern California at the time of the tweet.

The actress/singer lives in Los Angeles, an approximately four-hour drive from Santa Barbara.

Ultimately, Bella made a mistake.

It's highly unlikely that Bella would have tweeted about the 101 Freeway had she been aware of the events that had occurred.

In the future, it might be wise for Bella to check her newsfeed and see what's happening in the rest of the world before she tweets.
