13+ Times Lili Reinhart Got Real With Her Fans

Diply 27 Oct 2018

If you're not watching *Riverdale*, what planet are you on? Get on this one and tune into the wildest comic-turned-TV-show ever made (and that's saying something, because there's a lot of them now).

Lili Reinhart stars as Betty Cooper, intrepid journalist and crime-solver who rocks a ponytail like nobody's business. In the words of Kevin Keller, "Betty's ponytail is iconic and beyond reproach." Truth.

Much like Betty, Lili is never one to shy away from honesty. Here's some of the realest stuff she's ever laid down.

1. That time she talked about being unsure about her place in the world.

In an interview with *Harpar's Bazaar*, Lili said she sometimes feels like she doesn't know why she's doing what she's doing. She said, "Am I speaking into the void? Is the work that I'm doing even good? Do people even care?"

We all feel that way sometimes, and it's nice to know we're not alone.

Lili tweeted, "Look, I’m not in the mood for an artisan margherita pizza when I get home from work at 1am. I want that Dominos, baby." And honestly? I agree. Dominos or bust.

3. The time she had to defend her relationship.

In case you're living under a rock in the Riverdale world, Lili and her on-screen love interest, Cole Sprouse (aka Jughead) are in an off-screen relationship. And that means fans get really, really nosy about the real-life "Bughead."

Lili says she can't tweet in peace.

Even when she makes seemingly irrelevant tweets, fans will immediately start speculating if she's tweeting about her relationship with Cole. She tweeted and deleted, "Can I tweet something stupid without everyone speculating that my relationship is suffering?? ****. Grow up."

Acne. Everyone gets it, including TV stars. The perfect image of Betty isn't representative of Lili's struggle with her skin, and she talked about in a recent interview. She says it helps her feel better to share her experience with cystic acne with her fans.

By not hiding her imperfections, Lili says it feels OK to break out now. "Acknowledging it gets it out of the way. Then we can move past it." She added that it's therapeutic to talk about.

Yes, queen. No one should be ashamed of their skin!

In an interview with Teen Vogue, Lili was sure to affirm that Riverdale and Betty Cooper are not all that she is. Even though it's what she's famous for, she doesn't want to get stuck in a box.

She told *Vogue*, "There is still a problem here if you feel the need to say a man’s name, or someone who is more famous that is connected to me, in order to get someone to read an article about me... I’m not a boring person. I don’t need someone else’s name on a headline to make me sound more interesting."

While Lili — and Riverdale — are wildly successful, it's doubtful that she makes $300k an episode on a CW show, as some sites claim. She doesn't seem impressed with the estimates, either.

Being famous comes with a lot of criticism, but Lili has learned to move past it. Building up a thick skin is sadly something that she's had to do to protect herself.
