Listen, nobody's saying humans aren't weird. We are weird — the science is in. But we don't hold any monopoly on it. Sometimes, I wonder if we set a bad example to the animals of the world.

Turns out that animals can be weirdly human sometimes, if "weirdly human" means just being adorable and strange.

1. Take elephants, for example. Did you know the li'l trunky bois suck on their trunks?

The best thing I've ever heard is that when elephants look at us, the same part of their brains light up as ours do when we look at dogs.

Finally, I'm cute.

2. Or, did you know that owls can be just as lazy as humans? Like, they lay in the sunshine and only move when they're in shadow again.

Just one more thing I have in common with them, like having big eyes, or eating mice whole.

3. My dad used to do this with me when I was a kid. No, not give me beer — he'd prank me with empty bottles and raccoons.

Although, I guess this dad apparently knows how to give hugs...

But hey, that's for me and my therapist to worry about. Ha haaaaa...comedy.

4. Another fun fact I learned today is that ponies occasionally go out for fast food. Even weirder? This hoof-floof paid with debit.

I know what you're thinking, and don't worry. She's just buying it to freak out the cows when she gets home.

5. So, I can't comment on how old this turtle is, but it's definitely a ninja to be able to get the drop on that cat.

So, if it likes pizza...is that a Samurai Pizza Cat?

6. Maybe turtles just have a weird amount of respect for the sanctity of toilet paper, and that snappy boi was actually just getting back at the cat for wasting it like this?

Because this is not an isolated problem.

7. Dogs can do no wrong, as far as I'm concerned, and that includes sneaking the end of your drink when you're not paying attention.

This licky ninja boi knows what's up.

8. I guess this cat could've used a bit of that ninja power.

AcidCow | AcidCow

Remember back before the internet when we still thought most cats were graceful and elegant creatures? Reality shock, huh?

9. I'm having a hard time figuring out if this is mockery or solidarity. Either way, it's cute.

Personally, I like a dog that sticks by you, but a dog that could roast you would be amazing.

10. "Uhh...who keeps doing this to my cat?"

The Chive | The Chive

I know that the bread cat meme exists, but I had no toast for my eggs this morning, and I'm officially cranky.

Also, awww...

11. Wow, be a little more extra, feather friend.

I was about to say peacock. Is this a peacock? Like, a peacock bride trying to make sure the groom doesn't look prettier in the wedding photos?

12. See what I mean? A graceful alpaca attends your wedding, and all of a sudden you've lost the spotlight at your own event.

The Chive | The Chive

I'm assuming it's an alpaca because they're the nice ones, right? Are llamas the jerks?

13. The new repair guy seems a little sketchy.

I mean, it's nice that he can get in there and dislodge the snacks when they get stuck, but he's building a nest out of peanut M&M wrappers back there.

14. Yeah, for sure, it's weird to wear an aquarium helmet. This isn't supposed to be about humans, right?

AcidCow | AcidCow

Well, plot twist: These two extremely rich fish are vacationing, and that dude's just their tour guide.

15. Again, yes, this might look like some unbalanced person chopped up a car to put in their front yard.

The Chive | The Chive

But here's an alternate theory — Clifford the big red dog could easily bury a Mini Cooper.

I wondered about Clifford a lot as a kid.

If they were smart, his family could've made back some of Clifford's almost certainly crippling food budget by selling off his colossal dumps as fertilizer. These were not the thoughts of a healthy child.
