I'm Jealous Of This Kid Who Got Hit By Ashton Kutcher's Car

Diply 21 Sep 2018

Man, some people have all the luck. I've always wanted to have a fun celebrity encounter story to tell people about, but so far I haven't been walloped by any random stars!

That's not the case for Leo Marenghi in L.A. on September 18, however, as he was fortunate enough to be knocked off his scooter by comedy superstar and inspirational actor Ashton Kutcher.

In an interview with Time Magazine,Marenghi called it "a really cool experience" — because of course it was!

As this ivory god waltzes into any room, you can't help but hope that one day he'll accidentally smack into you with his Tesla.

In fact, I'd be willing to lay down for an oncoming steamroller if Beyoncé was driving it, ya know?

At the time of writing this, however, Beyoncé seems to be ignoring my letters asking her to steamroll me. What gives?!

So clearly, I have every right to be jealous of this kid who got crushed by Kelso.

At this point, however, I'm more likely to share a bowl of cereal with Kylie Jenner than to haveRihanna crash a helicopter into me or whatever. *sigh*

As well as being interviewed for Time Magazine, Marenghi was featured on TMZ!

Sure, I'm not the biggest TMZ fan personally, but that doesn't mean I don't wanna be on TV! Please, Cardi B, hmu to go parasailing or somethin'!

This is one of the two photos Marenghi got to share on his Instagram, probably boosting his followers to friggin' Mason Ramsey numbers.

Okay, so he's a few million followers short of the yodel kid, but still thousands more than me!

Marenghi was on his way to pick up a family friend's children from school, whippin' around on his Razor scooter when BAM! Luck — and Ashton Kutcher — knocked right into him.

Marenghi said that the driveway Kutcher was pulling out of had very limited visibility, so it was just a random little accident.

"I got up, and he was getting out of the car at the same time," he told Time, adding the fact that Kutcher was really concerned for him!

"He was like, 'Oh my God, I'm so sorry, are you OK?'"

Marenghi had a scrape on his knee and was "a bit sore," but after he realized who it was, he was stoked!

"I looked up and realized it was him. I was like, 'Yeah I'm fine, are you Ashton Kutcher though?' He was like, 'Yeah, but are you OK?'"

Being a fan of That '70s Show and other Kutcher projects, Marenghi recognized him instantly.

A nearby security guard snapped a couple great pics of the two.

Marenghi went on to saythat the experience was "definitely the best" celebrity encounter he's ever had.

"I called my mom and my sister, but they didn’t believe me. Good thing I have that picture," he joked.

Marenghi, seen here doing what I can only assume is preparing for his next celeb encounter, was happy to be OK.

"[not being hurt] changes the whole experience from something that could have been bad to a really cool experience," he said.

Even TMZ covered the story.

Also, TIL that "manny" is the male-gendered word for "nanny" that exists for some reason I can't wrap my head around.

Anyway, this isn't the first time a fan has been hit by a celeb and ended up lovin' it, and it probably won't be the last!

Sarah here was fortunate enough to be hit twice by Justin Bieber's car! TWICE!

Clearly, the key to these encounters is to mix action with no one actually getting hurt.

**There's always a risk when encountering a celebrity in the wild, so please remain safe!

This story, for example, leaves you wanting more — but not in the way Netflix shows end on cliffhangers or whatever.

Come on, Willem Defoe! Bite the bouncer's face off or something, right?

So really, is it too much to ask the cast of Mad Men to drive a bus into my house, or ask Scarlett Johansson to push me into traffic?

Like, please!

But at the end of the day, I suppose that if celebrities want to continue to be polite, charming, and respectful like Ashton Kutcher, we'll just have to hold off until fate decides we should meet Jennifer Aniston in a kitchen fire or something.
