Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

I'm still not over the emotional trauma that was Avengers: Infinity War, but that hasn't stopped me from scouring every corner of the internet for theories about Avengers 4

Marvel fans are hardcore, and there are some pretty great theories out there, but this one truly floored me.

If you're one of those fans that can't help but soak up every fan theory on the internet, then you're probably aware of the theory that there is time travel in Avengers 4.

A series of photographs that leaked from the Avengers 4 set might have confirmed this theory because they seem to recreate scenes from the battle of New York in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Time travel could certainly play a role in how the Avengers attempt to thwart Thanos.

I don't think any Marvel fan truly believes that the deaths at the end of Avengers: Infinity War will be permanent, but according to Marvel "break our hearts" Studios they are.

However, going back in time and stopping Thanos' snap from ever happening would definitely be one way to work around the whole "permanent" thing.

According to a new fan theory, the reason why the remaining Avengers go back in time is so that Tony Stark AKA Iron Man can build his own Infinity Gauntlet.

A Stark Gauntlet, if you will.

Stay with me, because this theory makes more and more sense the harder I think about it.

A popular theory already exists that explains how Ant-Man helps the Avengers travel through time and space using the Quantum Realm.

We've seen the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and possibly in Doctor Strange

Now that the Avengers have lost the Time Stone, the Quantum Realm is really the only viable way that they could travel through time...unless someone is hiding some shocking and fantastic abilities.

Iron Man and the team would then revisit moments in the past where they had access to the Infinity Stones.

If those leaked production photos prove anything, the Avengers might revisit the battle of New York because that's when they unknowingly won the Mind Stone from Loki.

Just to recap: Members the Avengers have encountered the Infinity Stones on Earth a bunch of times.

The Space Stone in Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers; the Mind Stone in The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron; the Reality Stone in Thor: The Dark World; the Time Stone in Doctor Strange.

The Power Stone was initially introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy and the Soul Stone only showed up in Avengers: Infinity War.

If this theory is correct, then the good guys have a ton of time-traveling to do.

Personally, I think it would be kind of cool to watch the Avengers revisit moments from their past, but perhaps I just want to see a young, happy-go-lucky Captain America meet the new, grizzled, dead-behind-the-eyes Steve Rogers.

The Avengers are clearly no match against Thanos so this theory kind of makes sense.

They need a weapon, right?

Traveling to the past to beat Thanos at his own game is certainly a Hail Mary play, but what else can they do? The dude just has to snap his fingers and people die!

However, retrieving the Infinity Stones from the past could also mean rewriting the history of the MCU, and that's kind of bananas.

If the Back to the Future movies have taught us anything, it's that time travel is a fickle plot device.

You'd better know what you're doing, Marvel!

A lot can go wrong when you start messing with time.

According to the theory, when the Avengers retrieve the Power Stone they create a timeline where the Guardians of the Galaxy never met and I just CANNOT abide that!

This theory also suggests that the Hulk will be the one to wield the Stark Gauntlet and take on Thanos.

It would be awesome to see Iron Man take on Thanos, but I doubt he could wield the Infinity Stones.

Perhaps if Bruce Banner and the Hulk finally work out their issues, this could happen.

What I like most about this theory is that it puts the characters we already know and love in the driver's seat.

Many fans of the comics are hopeful that Thanos will be defeated by Adam Warlock and the other cosmic entities, but I'd rather see the people we've spent the last 19 movies with close out this phase of the MCU.

Don't @ me.

No matter what happens, I'm pretty certain it will hurt even more than Avengers: Infinity War.

We're going to look back at Spider-Man's death like it was nothing after Avengers 4
