Hugh Hefner's is a name that everybody instantly recognizes. Unfortunately, it was announced by Playboy Enterprises that he had passed away of natural causes. He died yesterday in his home, the Playboy Mansion.
As the saying goes, "sex sells," and Hugh Hefner found a way to sell it better than anyone else.
The 91-year-old was the founder of Playboy magazine and turned it into a media and entertainment empire.
The first issue of Playboy was published in 1953 when Hugh was only 27 years old.
Hugh is survived by: his wife, Crystal; his sons, Cooper, David and Marston; and his daughter, Christie.
Since the news broke, several celebrities have publicly spoken out to pay tribute to him.
Girls Next Door alum Bridget Marquardt shared a photo of the two of them on Instagram with a sweet caption.
Kendra Wilkinson, another Girls Next Door alum, shared a statement with E! News and said that Hef changed her life.
Hugh will be missed by many people around the world, but his family and friends will be happy to know that he loved his life.
"In my wildest dreams, I could not have imagined a sweeter life," he once said.
RIP Hugh Hefner.
