In case you're super stressed trying to decide on a costume for this year's upcoming Halloween festivities, just remind yourself that you can't wear anything worse than a scandalous a Handmaid's Tale costume.

The website Yandy recently put out their version of the Handmaid's Tale's classic crimson red garb (which has since been pulled from their metaphorical shelves), and people reacted pretty much how you would have expected.

If you ask me, the description of the costume in question is where things go from bad to worse.

Using the seriously disturbing messaging of a novel entirely premised on the elimination of women's rights to causally sell sexualized costumes is horrific.

Simply giving the costume the title of "Brave Red Maiden" doesn't erase the connotation behind the outfit in question.

Honestly, we all know who and what they are referring to, so please save us the time and just say it outright.

Regardless of how shocked you may be feeling at the sight of this costume, there are some people who saw it coming.

I mean, considering the state of the world we live in, I'm surprised that I'm still so surprised by this stuff when it happens.

Apparently, if you thought the show had something for everyone, you'd be wrong.

Sure, the show itself has a ton of hidden meaning, symbolism and social commentary, but what it really needs is more leg.

And if you thought that women were the only ones who found something wrong with this costume choice, you'd be completely wrong.

Amidst the flurry of criticism, some folks were actually wondering what all the fuss was about. Thankfully, I found a perfectly succinct explanation.

I don't think I could have said it better myself, and I'm an actual copy writer.

And in case you thought the "Brave Red Maiden" costume was just an isolated lapse in judgment, feast your eyes on their vast selection of costumes that profit from cultural appropriation.

I know it's hard to believe, but it's 2018 and this is still happening.

But wait, there's more!

Like, this is most definitely meant to evoke Micky Mouse, but they still won't come right out and say it. I guess this is how you avoid the real pain that is copyright infringement.

Thinking of my favorite Disney icon being used to sell cheap polyester booty-shorts is making me want to cry.

Walt Disney would definitely not approve of this.

And if your childhood wasn't already tainted enough with these costumes, prepare to have your most beloved book series completely destroyed.

Of course, the "Spellbinding School Girl" costume is an "homage" to our favorite feminist, Hermione Granger, which is honestly so insulting.

There is nothing less enchanting than realizing someone actually had to write these product descriptions.

I can just see them sitting at their desks, cradling their head in their hands while asking themselves where it all went wrong.

And I just couldn't let you guys go about your day without calling this costume to your attention.

I wish this costume was fake, but alas, we cannot always get what we want. This is especially true if what we want is even remotely related to respecting women in the current climate.

I'm starting to realize that nothing good happens online.

Maybe that's a little too decisive or dramatic, but it's how I genuinely feel.

Can we just try to leave Taz out of it?

And the entire Looney Tunes crew, for that matter. They are literally made to entertain children, so I feel like you should feel weird strutting out in this little number.

And Yandy doesn't just make shocking costumes for women! They have an entire line for the creepy dude who lurks behind you at the bar.

Because making fun of addiction and mental health issues is a turn-on, right?

There's really nothing offensive about this one, but I still really hate it.

I know the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation just happened, but I still don't think that makes this costume acceptable.

Bottom line is, all of these costumes have me feeling like this:

And I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. That being said, hopefully, you don't run into any of the above this Halloween.
