I thought I'd start things off with a super simple DIY that anyone can pull off. All it took was a jar of gold paint and a collection of small, plastic skulls.

One of my favorite Christmas movies is A Christmas Story. You know, the one with Ralphie and his mission to get a BB gun from Santa for Christmas?

If you're familiar with this movie, you know that one of the most iconic parts of it is the leg lamp.

Carving pumpkins is a lot of fun, but if you're in the mood to try something new this year, why not consider working with glow-in-the-dark paint instead of a carving knife?

I Love To Create put this stuff to good use, and wound up with a seriously awesome collection of pumpkins that'll surely be the talk of the neighborhood.

Some of my favorite Halloween costumes are inspired by classic literary and movie characters, and the white rabbit from Alice In Wonderland is one of them.

Bunny Baubles put together a series of tutorials demonstrating how easy it is to create a white rabbit costume using basic crafting materials.

10. DIY Cheesecloth Ghost

I think every Halloween decor plan needs to have at least one ghost thrown into the mix. And the cutest way of doing that is by making one out of cheesecloth and liquid starch.

Which is exactly what Pamela of DIY Vibes did, and the result she was able to produce speaks for itself.

BRB! Going to stock up on cheesecloth and an alarming amount of liquid starch!

11. DIY Halloween Lady Head Vase

Lady head vases were uber popular during the 1950s and can now be found for sale on sites like eBay and Etsy. While some are more valuable than others, chances are, anything you come across for a decent price won't actually be worth a whole lot.

That's why Alexa of Queens Vein decided to give her two lady head vases spooky makeovers!

Using paint and taking inspiration from two iconic horror movie characters, Vampira and the Bride of Frankenstein, she was able to completely transform both ceramic busts in a major way.

Stores like HomeGoods and Michaels always have an assortment of Halloween-themed accessories to choose from this time of year. However, unless you use a coupon or shop their end-of-season stock, you can end up paying a small fortune for some of that stuff.

To avoid going into the red just so you can turn your home into a spooktacular attraction for Halloween, utilize the full potential of dollar and thrift stores.

For example, DIY With My Guy Blog snagged a couple of hardcover books from her local dollar store and used spray paint and paint pens to give them a creepy makeover. Don't they look great?!
