Bride Accidentally Picks Poisonous Flowers For Her Wedding Bouquet

Diply 15 Dec 2017

Like so many other couples, Christine Jo Miller and her husband, Jonathan, spent months planning every little detail of their September 2017 wedding. And even though there's no such thing as a perfect wedding day, Miller's ended up being way more disastrous than most brides could ever imagine.

During the planning process, Christine decided that she wanted the bouquets for her and her bridesmaids to be homemade. Living on a 29-acre property filled with a variety of florals and greenery, she thought it would be the perfect way to add that personal touch to her and Jonathan's big day.

One of the blooms she ended up picking was snow-on-the-mountain, which is a pretty white flower.

However, it also happens to be an extremely poisonous one — almost as dangerous as poison ivy! But this was something Christine was not aware of.

Not realizing her hands were still covered in residue, Miller wiped them all over her face.

Shortly after, she began breaking out, and by 11:30, her eyes were almost swollen shut. Her mom tried taking her to a nearby emergency clinic, but it was closed. So, Christine put on a brave face, finished getting ready, and went to her wedding in agony.

Right after saying "I do," the couple rushed to the hospital where Miller received eye drops, pain medication, and a steroid shot, which was documented and posted on Instagram.

Christine and Jonathan eventually made it to their reception — three and a half hours late. And the bride didn't show up in her beautiful gown, either.

Instead, she arrived in a comfortable pair of pajama bottoms and a T-shirt that said "Bride," which her new hubby found at Target after leaving the hospital.

Even though they were able to have their first dance and cake cutting ceremony, the couple's wedding day didn't end up being anything like what they had planned. "I was the scariest-looking person at my wedding," Christine told Inside Edition.
