12 Bizarre Souvenirs For The Royal Wedding

Diply 15 May 2018

Royal weddings don't happen every day, so even if you're not a fan of the monarchy, it's still a challenge not to take notice when one happens.

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has some added drama because she's such a recognizable face from TV. Plus, a royal marrying a commoner is pretty rare, and it's easy to get caught up in the fairy tale.

However, the marketing around the royal wedding is a little nuts. There's just about nothing folks won't put the royal faces on to make a buck. See for yourself.

1. Harry and Meghan Drum

Somebody stuck an engagement photo of Prince Harry and Meghan to a drum so you can drumroll your way through the ceremony for the low, low price of 52 pounds ($70).

2. Royal Wedding Clock

Who wouldn't proudly hang this commemorative, numberless, almost legible, almost round royal wedding clock on their wall? Or maybe take the hands off, and then you've got a commemorative plaque instead.

4. Crown Jewels Royal Wedding Souvenir Condoms

Billing themselves as "Artisan-style sheaths, tailored to a regal fit and drizzled with lube, promise discerning love-makers a royal union of pleasure and style," Crown Jewels souvenir condoms are surely one of the least expected ways to commemorate the royal wedding. Bonus, the box plays "God Save the Queen" and the "Star Spangled Banner" when you open it.

I'm sure kids and adults alike would have some fun with this coloring book that is not at all tacky, soulless, or even slightly creepy.

6. Harry and Meghan PEZ Dispensers

Because nothing says "royal wedding" like hard, chalky candies pushed out of tiny likenesses of the royal necks. This one is all for a good cause, at least. PEZ only made one pair, and they were auctioned off on eBay to benefit Make-A-Wish UK. The winning bidder parted with almost $10,000 for the set.

If you're willing to shell out 35 pounds ($47), you can have one of 1,000 boxes of this limited edition high-fiber cereal in a unique box that includes free Harry and Meghan masks on the back. Half the proceeds are being donated to support UK homeless shelters, so at least there's that.

I don't know why I find these dolls so unsettling — maybe because two grown adults have been turned into lifeless children for their wedding? Or is it just me?

If there's a more appropriate way to show your love for the royal couple than plastering their faces across your torso in a swimsuit, I don't want to know about it.

Just in case you're more of a Prince William fan than a Prince Harry fan and don't want to feel left out, yes, you can spread his royal face across your trunk, too.

Complete the set by squeezing into Kate Middleton's trademarked smile, why not? She's a fashion icon, after all, and, well, I'm sure she never expected to be part of a look like this.
