Dreams are funny things — when you’re caught up in them, they have their own weird logic, and what would otherwise seem obviously strange can make surprising sense. And as real as dreams can seem at times, we often forget them when the morning fog clears.
However, there’s one dream in particular that Jenna Evans won’t soon forget.
If you think you have vivid dreams, you might not have anything on San Diego’s Jenna Evans.

The young bride-to-be wrote on Facebook that she dreamed that she and Bobby, her future husband, were in a “very sketchy situation involving a high speed train and bad guys and he told me I had to swallow my ring to protect it.”
In the morning, her ring was gone.
Fortunately, Jenna knew right away what had happened to it.

“I popped that sucker off, put it in my mouth and swallowed it with a glass of water riiiight about the time I realized what I was doing. I assumed this too was a dream, because WHO ACTUALLY SWALLOWS THEIR ENGAGEMENT RING, so I went back to sleep.”
And yes, she and Bobby saw the humor in it all.

“We laughed pretty hard for about an hour and a half, called my mom, laughed until we were crying, googled ‘do other adults swallow rings’ because kids do it all the time, but apparently it’s less common for adults,” she wrote.
“I went to urgent care where I struggled to explain why I was there, because I was laughing/crying so hard.”
Despite the warning, the doctor seemed shocked that Jenna’s story was true. X-rays showed that she had indeed swallowed her engagement ring.

After a gastroenterologist advised her to not let the ring pass naturally, she had to go in for an endoscopy.
“Everything went great, they found my ring just beyond my stomach in my intestines, retrieved it and gave it to Bobby, not me.”
After that experience, Jenna changed up her bedtime routine.

“Bobby finally gave my ring back this morning – I promised not to swallow it again, we’re still getting married and all is right in the world,” she wrote. However, as she admitted to KGTV, she now takes her ring off before going to sleep.
“I feel very grateful that I got it back, and that this is a happy and funny story,” she said.
