In her latest media update, Eva Mendes connected with fans as she decried the downside to motherhood. Mendes is no doubt a doting mother who is quite hands-on with her children, but sometimes, it gets frustrating. On her Instagram page, the star shared a video of herself mourning the loss of a lipstick.
Mendes Shared Her ‘Pain’
The Ghost Rider actress filmed herself indoors on what looked like one of her regular days at home. She looked as impeccable as always in a red floral-pattern dress, as she crouched on all fours. The star mom bent in front of a giant mirror propped on the wall as she gathered together her broken lipstick.

Mendes looked at the camera letting fans know that this was “motherhood.” She held on to wipe ready to clean off the lipstick smudge on the hardwood floor of her home. Speaking to someone who was behind the camera, Mendes asked what she would do with the broken lipstick. The star who proceeded to clean off stains hilariously asked if all lipstick goes to heaven.
She also admitted that she shouldn’t have let her daughters play with the makeup item. The individual behind the camera quipped someone should enjoy it, to which Mendes agreed. Towards the end of the clip, she added that “it hurts.”
The Hitch star captioned, “WTF?! Motherhood means never having makeup that’s intact ever again Any mamas out there feel my pain?”
Many moms took to the comment section showing that they could relate to the 48-year-old’s lament. Someone stated how her daughter ate her chocolate bar palette while another person added “motherhood is NEVER finding your makeup where you left it.”
Mendes Has Described Motherhood As The Most Creative Thing
Earlier this year in May, Mendes joined Today’s Hoda Kotb where she discussed her life as a mom. The star gushed over her mini-mes noting that although she was quite the creative in her Hollywood career, motherhood toed it all. She stated
Mendes is mom to six-year-old Amanda and seven-year-old Esmeralda, and she welcomed them with her longtime partner and fellow star Ryan Gosling. The star also talked about choosing to stay away from her career to raise her children. The Place Beyond The Pines actress talked about emulating her mother regarding staying back at home to raise her daughters.
She Felt fortunate To Take A Break From Her Career
The star relayed how her own mother was able to be there when she needed her until she was in her preteen years. Mendes added that those moments were a huge part of her formative years. The star relayed that felt ‘lucky enough” to have the time to spend with her little girls. Even at times when she needed o travel to be away, the star mom always found it hard to say goodbye.
She cited an example noting how she came down to join Kotb on the show. Mendes stated that it was hard bidding her girls farewell because one of them had asked her not to leave them. The actress shared that she almost canceled at that moment.
Mendes Wouldn’t Have It Any Other Way
Kotb went on to ask the star mom if she missed her old life and career. To this Mendes relayed that she did not think she had missed anything. The Training Day star added that she did not rule out returning to the acting industry, but her list of roles has grown really short. Mendes would not want to do “anything violent or sexual.”
