She expressed her doubts to a crew member
According to People, Paltrow expressed her doubts about the relationship to one of her crew members on set, and admitted she actually had a crush on Hugh Grant instead.
Paltrow once made a comment about teaching Pitt
The publication also reported that the actress told an interviewer, “Brad and I had very different upbringings,” as she went on to explain how she’d explain caviar to him at restaurants.
“So when we go to restaurants and order caviar, I have to say to Brad, ‘This is beluga and this is osetra’,” she added.
People online didn’t like the remark
Over on social media, people didn’t appreciate Paltrow’s remarks about her time with Pitt, with one Reddit user deeming her ‘insufferable’, per the Daily Mail.
“Classic classist snob with no taste, no humor,” another user said. “Please educate us more on the differences between caviar and keep preaching about how to not eat.”
Some called her ‘out of touch’
Another user said, “I simply have no words,” adding, “To be so out of touch with reality that you think that sentence is in any way relatable is astonishing.”
A third agreed, “She is exhausting.”
Some weren’t as put off as others
While some users didn’t appreciate Paltrow’s reasoning on why she and Pitt weren’t the right fit, others weren’t so put off by it, with one person admitting, “I’d actually read this book lol.”
