The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni which started on the 31st of December currently continues as other celebrities have been sucked into the saga of lawsuits.

These include Blake Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds – of whom Baldoni filed a lawsuit against – as well as Taylor Swift. Now it seems that Hugh Jackman might also have to get involved.

Details of the feud between Lively and Baldoni have been known to the public since the first lawsuit filed by Lively against Baldoni accusing him of sexual harassment on the set of It Ends WIth Us.

Actually, Lively had requested a protective order of all information regarding the lawsuit, which the court only partially granted. The judge ruled on Thursday 13 March that information would only be restricted to the knowledge of attorneys if it’s highly sensitive and personal.

Following Lively’s initial lawsuit against Baldoni, the actor and director filed a counter-lawsuit against Lively and her husband Reynolds, accusing the two of defamation.

The case is now scheduled for trial on 29 March, 2026.

Other celebrities have been caught up in the feud along the way, with Taylor Swift, friend to Lively, having been dragged into the drama as the two’s “once-unbreakable bond” is “now said to be on the rocks”. This is according to a source close to Swift, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Now, Hugh Jackman, who starred with Ryan Reynolds in the Marvel hit Deadpool & Wolverine, might also be dragged into the lawsuits.

A source said Jackman would be ‘deposed’

An insider said that Hugh Jackman “will be deposed” before the trial set to take place next year, according to the Daily Mail.

“Hugh will be deposed if this goes to trial. There is no way that he cannot,” the source said.

“Baldoni’s legal team is doing everything they need to do to get a full scope of Ryan’s conduct during the time that It Ends With Us was filmed,” they added.

“As Ryan’s good friend, who starred in the film and was with Blake and Ryan many times in private during that time, his deposition will likely be crucial. They are not going to leave any stone unturned.”

Depositions are part of the pre-trial process

Depositions are done before cases go to trial as part of the discovery and knowledge collection process. They help attorneys in preparing for their case before a trail. Deposed witnesses are questioned under oath.

Jackman worked with Reynolds in 2023

The two actors started filming Deadpool & Wolverine together in May 2023, which was around the same time as the production of It Ends With Us.

It was also claimed by the source that Reynolds, who co-wrote Deadpool & Wolverine, wrote into the movie a few not-so-subtle jabs at Baldoni, saying, “It’s unlikely Hugh wasn’t aware of this.”

This is likely referring to the Deadpool & Wolverine character Nicepool, of whom Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, said there was “no question” that it was a joke at Baldoni’s expense.

“Not only this, but Hugh helped promote It Ends with Us in the same way that Taylor did when they did their group shot for the cross-promo with Deadpool,” the source said. “The timing of the premieres is also no coincidence.”

Jackman had attended the New York City premiere of It Ends With Us in August 2024.
