In today’s edition of “how did these celebrities end up together?” rumors have been swirling about a budding new romance between New Girl star Zooey Deschanel and Property Brothers brother Jonathan Scott.
Zooey filed for divorce from her husband, Jacob Pechenik, earlier this year.
Recently, reports have flooded in that Zooey and Jonathan Scott have been seeing each other quietly for some time. The pair met while filming an episode of Carpool Karaoke.
Since then, the two have been spotted holding hands on what seems like a date.
You can see the photos here . While remaining fairly vague on the subject, Jonathan did confirm with Us Weekly that he was “seeing someone” and that “it was definitely a pleasant surprise.”
Zooey’s ex husband has spoken publicly for the first time since their divorce was announced.
Speaking to Hollywood Life , Pechenik said, “Everything is amicable and we have two beautiful children together. We’ve been raising them and we’re going to continue to raise them, and take great care of them. I’m happy.”
Pechenik maintains there isn’t tension between him and Zooey.
The two of them currently still run a company together, and Pechenik said they “haven’t had so many differences when it comes to the business, we both know what our strengths and weaknesses are and turn to each other for suggestions or advice on the other person’s expertise.”
