Makeup Any Potterheads Would Cast An Unforgivable Curse For

Diply 4 Oct 2018

Welcome, wizards and witches, to another year at Hogwarts!

Oh my god, can you imagine hearing that in real life? I would die. I'm far past age 11, and I still lowkey hope to get a Hogwarts letter every year, not gonna lie.

But since we're all basically out of luck in the letter arena, let's make up (get it?) for that by buying cute *Harry Potter-*inspired makeup! Who's with me? Also, who can spot me a galleon because I spent my last at Sephora again — any takers?

1. Eyeshadow to rock at the Yule Ball.

Geek Chic Cosmetics is an old hat when it comes to nerdy cosmetics. Their Witchcraft and Wizardry loose eyeshadow collection is chock full of color and sparkle, from Gryffindor red to Slytherin green (and everything in between).

2. Keep the wolf at bay.

Geek Chic Cosmetics has the perfect cure for your werewolf blues (the puns here are A+, folks). Like the potion brewed by Snape to aid Lupin's monthly transformations, Wolf's Bane Butterlush Bloom Lip Balm will soothe you and your lips. Also? It tastes like root beer.

3. Shine bright like a philosopher's stone.

Shiro Cosmetics | Shiro Cosmetics

In need of a new highlighter or bronzer? Need it to be Harry Potter-themed? Shiro Cosmetics' Marauders, Mugwumps, and Muggles Collection is perfect for you. Both of their loose face powders are themed after chocolate frogs, which might make you hungry while you apply the perfect glow. Maybe grab a snack from the trolley lady.

4. Give the sorting hat another spin.

Etsy | FizzyFairyApothecary

Etsy Shop Fizzy Fairy Apothecary has a ton of Harry Potter-themed bath bombs, including the Wizarding House Bath Bomb Set — you know, for those days when you're feeling a little more Slytherin than Gryffindor. Plus, they come with charms inside!

5. Brushes straight from Ollivanders.

Storybook Cosmetics has the market cornered on Harry Potter makeup. The first product they launched was the Storybook Cosmetics Wizard Wands, which I actually bought way back when and have displayed in my apartment. I mean, look at them. They're GORGEOUS.

6. Cheeks sharper than Voldy's.

Etsy | AWhimsicalWillow

Etsy Shop AWhimsicalWillow has come up with an entire HP contour palette! What? The Wizard Highlight and Contour Palette has shades like Butterbeer Foam, Pigwigeon, and Unicorn Hair, which will for sure make you stand out at the next Death Eater meeting.

8. A(nother) book Hermione would love.

YouTube | jeffreestar

It's a book of eyeshadows. How cool is that? Storybook Cosmetics' Wizardry and Witchcraft Eyeshadow Palette boasts 12 pressed eyeshadows in a variety of *Harry Potter-*inspired shades. If palettes are your thing, definitely check this book out from the Restricted Section.

9. Butterbeer 24/7.

Etsy | DelightNaturals

No one tell Madam Rosmerta that Etsy shop DelightNaturals has her butterbeer recipe available for the masses — in lip balm form! Their Butterbeer Lip Balms are butterbeer flavored, which means you'll get to taste butterscotch like...all day.

10. Brew yourself some liquid luck.

Let's just all take a minute to really soak in the packaging here. This lipgloss looks like it was brewed and poured in Hogwarts' dungeons, presided over by a certain hook-nosed professor. Shiro Cosmetics knocked this out of the Quidditch Stadium with their Marauders, Mugwumps, and Muggles lipglosses.

11. Nail it on your first day at the Ministry .

Etsy | NovaPolish

Look at that glitter! Nova Polish has a Harry Potter-themed polish jam-packed with themed glitter like Harry's signature lightning bolt, a Deathly Hallows triangle, and golden Snitch circles. This is a subtle but great way to show off your HP love!

12. Have some eyeshadow, Potter.

Instagram | Shiro Cosmetics

Not only does Shiro Cosmetics' Marauders, Mugwumps, and Muggles Eyeshadow Collection come in 20 (20!) different shades, each one comes with a hand-drawn art of the character the shadow is inspired by on its label. Um, awesome.

13. Wear your colors proudly.

Ugh, don't you hate when you need the perfect shade to match your House's colors for a Quidditch match, but you just can't find the right lipstick? Well, I have great news. Storybook Cosmetics' Wizardry and Witchcraft Lipstick holds the solution to all of your problems (except us Hufflepuffs, but we can just wear black lipstick instead).

14. I must not actually get a lightning bolt tattoo.

Etsy | SeventhSkin

But you can get a temporary one. Etsy shop SeventhSkin has actually made temporary tattoos of Harry's scar, as well as the scar Professor Umbridge gave him after assigning him the world's most messed-up detention assignment. These would be perfect for Halloween or cosplay!

15. Platform 9 3/4 has never been closer.

Etsy | LoveByLunaCo

Can a manicure be magical? Now it can. Sure to irritate Professor McGonagalls everywhere, these themed nail decals can be put over your favorite nail polish for maximum nerdery on your hands. Etsy shop LoveByLunaCo has a bunch of decals to choose from, but my fave is definitely the golden trio.

16. Flourish and blot.

Twitter | @JKissaMakeup

Far preferable to an actual quill (how anyone got through Hogwarts without computers or pens is a mystery to me), Storybook Cosmetics' Quill & Ink eyeliner is so pretty that you'll want to display it after you use it. Now, if only a Quick-Quotes Quill Eyeliner existed to put your liner on for you...
