'Family Guy' Finally Addressed If The Show Will Stop Making Gay Jokes

Well, the wave of political correctness has finally reached Family Guy.

Will they cave to pressure and stop making jokes at the expense of the LGBTQ community?

Or will they stay the same?

'Family Guy' has an interesting history with gay jokes.

Of course, they've been making fun of Stewie for being gay for years now, but recently they've decided to cool it a bit on the gay jokes.

Or at least that what executive producers Alec Sulkin and Rich Appel said.

But then there was the newest episode of 'Family Guy'.

Where Peter is asking a focus group about the direction the show should go and one person makes a joke about Peter's sexuality.

Another asks about the previous statement (cooling it on the gay jokes).

Peter replies: "That quote was taken out of context and widely misunderstood"

Here is the actual quote:

The aforementioned executive producers said:

Sulkin: "In fairness, we've been trying to phase out the gay stuff. If you look at a show from 2005 or 2006 and put it side by side with a show from 2018 or 2019, they're going to have a few differences."

He continues: ""Some of the things we felt comfortable saying and joking about back then, we now understand is not acceptable."

Appel adds: "The climate is different, the culture is different and our views are different. They've been shaped by the reality around us, so I think the show has to shift and evolve in a lot of different ways."

So which is it, Family Guy?

Well, honestly, we don't know. We'll just have to find out!
