Any apocalyptic story could definitely last decades, and apparently, that's the road that The Walking Dead wants to take.
They have been officially renewed for season 11.

Michonne is leaving, Rick is getting three movies, and Maggie Greene is returning to the show!
And although the show has occasionally made some bad moves, it shows no signs of stopping.

Remember when they killed Glenn? Then Carl? Then Rick left? Then Maggie left? Then Jesus died?
Yes, I'm bitter.
Luckily, at least, Maggie is returning!

So although we will be losing Michonne, we are gaining another beloved character in her place.
Thank goodness.
