Tube-Fed Babies Pose For A Stunning Photo Series That Proves 'Fed Is Best'

For some reason, people still think it's appropriate to shame parents or offer unsolicited advice when it comes to how they feed their babies. It's not uncommon to see entire debates raging on social media over this issue.

However, one photographer's stunning photo series proves that, at the end of the day, no matter how you feed your baby, fed is best.

As a new mom herself, Anna Stacy Poteet got the idea to host a photoshoot that celebrated all the ways babies are fed.

The Tennessee-based photographer put out a casting call on social media for moms and babies to participate in the photos. To her surprise, three moms whose babies use feeding tubes responded to the post.

The result was a series of stunning photos that celebrated these babies and brought much-needed attention to this issue.

Even though she's a seasoned photographer, for Poteet, this was her first time photographing tube-fed babies.

When she shared the images to her Facebook page, Anna Stacy Photography, Poteet provided some information about each mom and baby who participated in the shoot.

Brianna Lorenzo is a mom to two-year-old Bellamy who requires a G-tube due to allergies and acid reflux.

Since getting his G-tube, Bellamy has been thriving and gaining weight.

Lizz Hendrickson's six-month-old daughter, Katherine, requires a feeding tube because she has difficulty swallowing and severe reflux.

Since getting her G-tube, she's made huge strides in her health and weight gain and no longer requires any medications.

Samantha Parsons was photographed with her five-month-old daughter, Hailey.

Hailey has a combination of improper swallow and allergies which led to her nasal tube being inserted. She will require additional treatment from Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville in the months to come.

Since sharing the photos on Facebook, they've gone viral with over 8,000 shares.

Poteet has been overwhelmed by the positive reactions to these photos.

"I think it’s great, it’s the best feeling to bring awareness to something that some people don’t even know about," she said in an email to Diply.

The photos have helped bring awareness to the struggles faced by many families when it comes to feeding-related issues.

"You see trendy stuff shared all the time, so this was awesome to have recognition for the mamas that struggle with that life daily," Poteet said.

The photos have been such a success that Poteet has actually held a second shoot for these moms and their babies.

She's also partnered with a company that makes tube-friendly clothing for babies as well. We can't wait to see her next round of photos with these inspiring moms and babies.
