As far as we can remember, Aaron and Nick Carter have never just been brothers — regular, happy siblings on good terms.

The energy between them has always been kinda *off* ya know?

But this month, things have taken a turn for the worse.

Earlier this month Nick made a statement on Twitter, announcing that he and their sister, Angel, had filed a restraining order against Aaron.

"After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today," the statement reads.

"In light of Aaron's increasingly alarming behavior and his recent confession that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child...

"We were left with no choice but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family."

"We love our brother and truly hope he gets the proper treatment he needs before any harm comes to himself or anyone else."

The official court documents, obtained by E! News, explain further details about the restraining order.

The file alleges that Aaron had "exhibited increasingly unstable behaviors" and "recently admitted to having schizophrenia with multiple other mental disorders."

The file also revealed the threatening comments he had made while FaceTiming his sister, Angel.

Angel claimed that Aaron said he "thinks about killing babies and has thought about killing [Nick's] wife, Lauren."

"I need an injunction because I fear for my safety, the safety of my wife and children, and the safety of my wife's parents," Nick stated in the document.

"I am afraid he will listen to the voices in his head and cause harm to my family," he added.

Aaron immediately went to Twitter to give his side of the story.

He firstly denied the allegations, tweeting: "I am astounded at the accusations being made against me and I do not wish harm to anyone, especially my family."

The following day Aaron took to Twitter once again — this time to make allegations against his late sister, Leslie, who passed away in 2012 after overdosing on prescription medication.

"My sister Leslie suffered from bipolar and took lithium to treat it," he tweeted.

"She never liked the way it made her feel and when she was off of it she did things that she never meant to do I truly believe that. I was 10 years old....," he continued.

"My sister raped me from the age of 10 to 13 years old when she wasn't on her medications."

"And my brother abused me my whole life," he added.

"Now it's nicks turn to tell the tell the truth of what he did to one of the girls in my family. Since my truth is all out there and I hope all survivors of assault or rape find peace and justice."

Not long after, TMZ released a video of Aaron, just days later, explaining that he had "tapered off" of Xanax over the previous five days.

He also revealed that he had surrendered his guns to the police, as the restraining order forbids him from being in possession of any guns.

When asked if he's hopeful to eventually get them back, he said: "That's no one's business. I will prevail."

So, in light of Aaron's mental health problems, he decided to get a massive face tattoo.

The face tattoo has already gone on a four wheeler ride.

Ah yes, nothing like dirt and a fresh tattoo. A match made in heaven, truly.

Fans have flooded his comments, encouraging him to get help.

"You deffo need help...," someone else wrote.

There's a lot going on.

According to TMZ, the tattoo artist responsible for the ink claims he tried to talk the singer out of it.

Herchel Carrasco told the news outlet, "Before I tattoo anyone, I take into consideration their mental state ... in Aaron’s case, I assessed the situation and I genuinely felt he was in a good place mentally to get tattooed."

The tattoo was done in Carrasco's home studio and cost the singer $3,000!

The tattoo was designed to look like Rihanna's 2013 Medusa-inspired cover photo for British GQ.

I mean, to be fair, Carrasco did a great job.
