Jonathan Van Ness And Planned Parenthood Teamed Up To Share The Importance Of STI Testing

Jonathan Van Ness. JVN. Angel. King of my life. Whatever you chose to call him, understand you must love and respect him because he's truly one of the greatest human beings alive right now.

You probably recognize our sweet Jonathan from Netflix's "Queer Eye" reboot.

He's the hairstylist extraordinaire that America instantly fell in love with!

Recently, JVN sat down with the "New York Times" to give an interview about his upcoming memoir.

Over the Top: A Raw Journey of Self-Love details Jonathan's struggle with drug addiction and the moment he realized he was HIV positive at a Planned Parenthood clinic.

Now, he's teamed up with the organization to promote the importance of STI testing in the most adorable sexual health video I have ever seen.

Because talking about sexually transmitted infections (or STD'S) shouldn't be scary!

In the last year alone, Planned Parenthood provided 4.7 million tests and treatments for STI's (including 740,000 HIV tests) which is totally amazing!

The video concludes with JVN reminding viewers that the Trump-Pence administration is making it much harder for people to access free or low-cost STI testing and treatment by forcing Planned Parenthood out of the Title X Program, a 50-year-old federal program that four MILLION people use for affordable sexual health care.

The video ends with a call to action for viewers to protect Planned Parenthood in the Title X Program, which will help save SO MANY lives!

In an interview with Refinery 29 about his involvement with Planned Parenthood, JVN keeps it simple— "I wanted to work with Planned Parenthood because of the attacks on them from the religious right...To allow someone’s religion to dictate what we study, what we treat, and who we treat is so un-American."
