Polly Pocket Is Back And Is As Cute And Tiny As Ever

I was obsessed with Polly Pocket in the '90s. Besides being adorable, the portable dollhouses were perfect for our regular family road trips.

Plus, my parents liked that one purchase provided me with a whole world to play in, saving them from having to shell out extra money for things like Dream Houses.

I'm 99% certain that I had this Starlight Castle.

I'm 100% certain that if I did have it, the light up feature was broken within hours of receiving it.

Unfortunately for us '90s girls, when Bluebird Toys was taken over by Mattel in 1998, the compacts were discontinued in favor of larger versions of the dolls and play sets.

Because nothing says capitalism like buying out a successful company and replacing what made them successful with more expensive versions!

But twenty years later — man, I feel old right now —  Mattel has learned the error of their ways and is relaunching Polly Pocket in her classic form!

Well, close enough, anyway.

There appear to be different sizes of dolls depending on the set, and they dolls are missing the classic hinge in the middle. 2018 Polly doesn't need to sit down, apparently.
