Target Lovers Will Envy Nine-Year-Old's Unique Birthday Party

When it comes to themed birthday parties, there's nothing like going over-the-top to support your little ones. We all know the birthday party is just as much for the parents as it is for the kids.

Recently, one nine-year-old wanted to have a pretty unique themed party.

While shopping with his mom in Target, he imagined what life would be like if he were able to have his birthday party at the famous store.

While it seems strange, it's also awesome.

Who doesn't love Target? They have absolutely everything you need and more.

Melissa Johnson, the mom behind lifestyle guide Best Friends for Frosting, wrote about it on Instagram.

She said:

"A few months ago, Charlie made a joke while we were shopping at Target and said, 'What if I had my 9th birthday party at Target? Just kidding, I know that would never happen. And that’s when the idea came to mind."

The particular Target they chose was sentimental, too.

"This was the SAME exact Target I have been shopping at since I was 5 years old. I walked this exact Target days before becoming a first-time mom to push myself into labor. This is the same Target I worked at for 3 months when I was 16. Fast forward 17 years later, and this was the same Target I rushed to see the Target ad I was in last December’s issue of Martha Stewart."

Clearly, the mom and her son were both super excited with how everything came together.

And, it was a total surprise for Charlie.

The mom shared that she had planned the entire party for him, knowing he wanted to do it at Target.

"To pull it off, I had my mom bring Charlie to Target that morning after we set everything up."

He had no idea!

"She pretended they were just going shopping until they got to the section of the store we had the party set up. He was both puzzled and shocked! It took a few seconds for him to piece things together."

And, the best part of all is that the Target Team was super involved and on board.

"Target store director Joe Forbes had custom Target badges made for all the kids so they could be real Target team members for the day."

The kids got to play around like they actually worked there, too.

From ringing up items to having cake in the aisles, it looked like a fun-filled time.

The photos all came out amazing too!

Seriously, goals.

Of course, Charlie totally loved it.
