This Company Is Paying People $1000 To Drink Coffee For A Month

For some people coffee is an art form; an aesthetic; a delicious treat without which they simply could not live. For the rest of us, coffee is a way to make the headachy pain of the morning, afternoon, and sometimes evening, subside into a low, tolerable hum.

Either way, for most of us, coffee is a necessity!

Every day, millions of us shuffle dead-eyed into a coffee shop for our carefully roasted elixir of life.

Well, one business website is looking to offer the right coffee lover a dream opportunity.

Business.org is offering $1000 to the right caffeinated person to sample and document their coffee drinking for a month.

Business.org

The opportunity is open to all Americans (sorry everyone else furiously clutching at their trembling mug) and all you have to do is fill out a form explaining why you think you would be a good fit for the role.

However, the company is looking for a specific type of coffee drinker.

Specifically, the website is looking to pay a "self-professed Starbucks junkie [...] to ditch corporate coffee joints for a full month and frequent locally owned coffee shops instead."

So, if you already frequent your boutique little hipster cafes, sadly this is not the position for you!

The purpose of the role is to encourage people to move away from chains, and shop independent.

On their website, Business.org writes:

"A whopping 82% of businesses that fail go under because of cash flow problems. But what if they had more customers bringing more cash? As small-business advocates, we at Business.org want to encourage more Americans to frequent local businesses—and we’re starting with local coffee shops."

The role will not simply be drinking the odd cup of coffee, however.

The role specifically requires you to go to 8 different independent coffee stores over the course of a month. Once there, you will have to take a photo for social media (obviously, this is the 21st Century), log down your experiences while there, and write up a short summary.

And that's it!

The website also lists the additional perks of the job (as thought they need spelling out!).

The perks of the job are described as: you are literally get paid to drink delicious coffee, there are no strict office hours for you to abide by, no drug or background checks are required, and you'll get featured on the Business.org blog.

If you are selected you will receive 25% of the pay up front, and the rest upon completion.

So, if you think you could avoid Starbucks and other chained coffee shops for a single month, instead frequenting at least 8 independent coffee houses and post the occasional photo on social media, then this is the job for you. And if you think that you can't do that, then what the hell is wrong with you?!

The health benefits of drinking coffee are still largely disputed.

A study conducted by the British Heart Foundation claims that 25 cups of coffee per day is a safe amount. There are also studies by the NHS which suggest that drinking 3-4 cups a day could help you live longer.

However, these findings are yet to be definitively proven.

There are also a lot of outlets, such as healthline which claims that coffee drinking can have negative effects such as anxiety, high blood pressure, insomnia, and many more. Although, these are not definitively proven either.

So, if you want to apply for this dream position simply head on over to the Business.org website.

The form is linked on their webpage, but you'd better be quick, the applications close on September 30th, and the position is expected to get a lot of applicants... and why the hell wouldn't it!
