Amanda Bynes Returned To Instagram With Confusing New Posts

Well, folks, I have a very important announcement to make: After six years, Amanda Bynes has officially made her long-awaited return back to Instagram, and fans are confused.

Okay, so, Amanda Bynes is back on Instagram. It's kind of a big deal.

But let's just recap on why she abandoned social media in the first place.

Who doesn't remember Amanda's 2013 breakdown? It was the talk of the internet.

Radar Online

In hindsight, things started to go downhill for her in 2010 when she pulled out of the movie Hall Pass well into filming, announced that she was retiring from acting on Twitter, and then un-announced that she was retiring from acting — deleting her original tweet.

In 2012, she was arrested for driving under the influence and hitting another car.

She pleaded her case to President Barack Obama via Twitter.

“Hey @BarackObama… I don’t drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end," she wrote.

By early 2013 Amanda was storming through social media, showing off her cheek piercings and taking credit for inventing the common online abbreviations, "ILY" and "LOL".

She was also tweeting things like, "Barack Obama and Michelle Obama are ugly!"

In March, 2013, came her infamous tweets asking rapper, Drake, to "murder" her vagina.

That was followed by a parade of threats to sue Perez Hilton and popular publications such as US Weekly and In Touch.

Drake did respond to that tweet, though not on Twitter.

Drake told XXL, "I don't even know who is doing that or what's that about. If that is her, I guess it's a little weird and disturbing."

In an interview four years later, Amanda commented on that tweet.

Amanda said, "I actually wasn't being insincere. I was serious, but I was also on drugs. So that was my way of saying like, 'Let's do this, man.' But I was on drugs and trying to be hilarious."

In May, 2013, came even more of her infamous tweets.

She tweeted to Rihanna, saying: “Chris brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough” and that she “almost named [her] new dog Rihanna.”

She insisted that she was "allergic to drugs and alcohol," and concluded that she was pursuing a new career as a musician.

“Looking forward to a long and wonderful career as a singer/rapper!”

Fast-forward to 2018, in an interview with Paper magazine, Amanda seemed like an entirely new person.

"I'm really ashamed and embarrassed with the things I said. I can't turn back time but if I could, I would," she said.

"And I'm so sorry to whoever I hurt and whoever I lied about because it truly eats away at me."

"It makes me feel so horrible and sick to my stomach and sad. Everything I worked my whole life to achieve, I kind of ruined it all through Twitter. It's definitely not Twitter's fault — it's my own fault."

Earlier this summer Amanda graduated from college and started her Instagram account back up again for the first time since her breakdown.

She announced her return to Instagram on her Twitter — which she has hardly used at all in the last six years.

Although she has her comments disabled, fans have taken to Twitter to discuss what they really think of her Instagram comeback.

Some fans were concerned about her decision to dye her hair pink.

Probably because the last time Amanda was doing funky things to her hair, it was because she was going through it.

Remember her turquoise wig phase? Exactly.

Other fans are okay with her return to Instagram, but hope that she's able to stay on the straight and narrow.

Social media is a scary place. Anything can happen.

This person thoughtfully pointed out that this upcoming Friday lands on the 13th and it's going to be a full moon.

What a time to be alive.

We are about to witness a whole lot of strange.

For the most part, however, fans are thrilled that Amanda is back on the gram.

She definitely brings a lot of personality back into our timelines.

So if you're looking for a new account to follow, let it be Amanda's!

Here's hoping she's ready to take on the world of fashion!

Her pink hair and new septum piercing are pretty enviable.

It reminds me of my younger days being obsessed with scene queens — and it looks like Amanda's right there with me. Sure, things didn't go great for her the last time she dyed her hair, but I think she looks great!

She's also been sharing memes.

Like this one, which she simply captioned, "Lol." Amanda really is just like any fresh college grad: sharing memes about being sad on Instagram is pretty much par for the course.

Amanda's Instagram kind of has something for everyone.

Into nature and nature photography? You'll love this "dang, massive spiderweb!" she shared to her page. To be fair, it is a pretty massive spiderweb.

If you're into fashion, she has you covered.

That makes sense — she did just graduate from a fashion program, after all. She shared this heel/sock combo with the caption, "omg obsessed with this look."

And, obviously, some good old fashioned selfies.

Amanda also shared this pre-pink shot of herself at the tattoo studio, where she also tagged her artists, @tattoosbyspooky. No word yet on what ink she got, but I'm sure we'll see it soon.

I don't know about you, but I'm happy to see Amanda back on my feed.

Now that Amanda's in a healthier place in her life, I'm pretty pumped to get to see updates about what she's working on.

Are you glad to see her back? Or do you think she should keep taking time off?
