Finally! The question that has been plaguing Disney and especially Lion King fans for the last 20 or so years!
And here's another shock: the answer wasn't in the live-action Disney version!

The music, the animation, and the backgrounds are all beautiful. But the characters are the reason the movie has resonated with people all these years.
One of the best characters in the movie is the villain Scar.
But we have one question...

How did he get his Scar? Was he born with it?
Were his parents like "We'll name our one son, heir to the throne, a word that literally means "king" and our other son after that thing he has on his face."
Well, we finally have our answer.
The Disney Jr. Show The Lion Guard finally told us how Scar got his scar! And through song, too! How campy!
Apparently, it was some jerk lion and his jerk snake friend. Watch the video if that wasn't enough info for you.
This brings up an important question...

So... was he always named Scar? Even before he got the Scar from the snake?
Did he have another name, or were his parents a pair of prophets on Pride Rock?
