Back-to-school season is both an exciting and stressful time for families, so it's no surprise that many turn to social media to share their advice.

Of course, back-to-school season is also a time to celebrate the milestone of your child starting a new year.

Online, parents love sharing the creative ways that they capture this special moment. Many have created beautiful DIY projects that document each and every first day of school for their child.

The chalkboard photos are still very popular.

Expect to see a lot of these in your social media feeds over the next few weeks.

Other parents go with the oversized frame prop.

These are fun and easy to make, too! You just need some poster board and a few decorations to make it your own.

Some even have a full-on photoshoot for their children.

This is if you want to get really fancy, but however you want to mark your child's first day back to school is up to you!

And now one mom has shared her amazing back to school tradition with the world through Twitter.

Carina Cansino, a mom from Dallas, Texas, shared these photos of her son, Gus, on his first day of school in a tweet that's gone viral.

The oversized shirt is clearly too big for Gus right now.

For the five-year-old who just celebrated his first day of kindergarten, it'll be a while until he fits into the shirt. Likely not until he's actually a member of the Class Of 2032.

On the back of the shirt, Gus will add a handprint to mark each year.

He's already checked pre-kindergarten and kindergarten off his list. When the shirt is finished, his mom will have an awesome keepsake documenting his first days of school.

Of course, the final step in this tradition is to take a photo every year of Gus wearing the shirt.

Here's what Gus looked like last year in his shirt.

Oh my goodness, you can already see how much he's grown. That shirt will be covered in handprints before you know it.

Since sharing the photos of Gus, Carina's tweet has been retweeted thousands of times.

Some Twitter users were so moved by her tradition that they want to see a yearly update until Gus graduates in 2032. Aww!

Carina joked that she had to tell her son that he was "famous" now.

Doesn't hurt to start the first day of school with a bit of viral fame behind your name, right?

Gus and Carina also thanked everyone for their positive reactions to their DIY back-to-school keepsake.

The internet fell in love with this idea pretty quickly, and it's easy to see why.

Other moms also shared their version of this tradition.

It's really easy for any parent to do this for their own child. You just need a shirt and some fabric paint. What an awesome back to school tradition!

Here's another little girl who had a handprint shirt similar to Gus'.

For the handprints, you can do each one the same color each year, or mix up the colors. Either way, when the shirt is done, it'll look so cool!

It looks like we might have the next "first day" photo trend on our hands here.

Move over, chalkboard signs! These T-shirts are taking over Pinterest and Instagram.

You can even use them for a cute sibling photoshoot.

Aww, this is great! They both have their very own shirt corresponding with their graduating year.

As Carina's tweet continues to gain viral traction, other moms plan on copying her idea.

That's the beauty of the internet: It gives moms a place to share ideas with each other!

It's never too late to start.

This mom said she wished she had done something like this with her kids, but you can still try it even if you missed a few years. It's the thought that counts, right?

Carina also revealed that she is a single mom and will be sharing more updates of herself and Gus through her YouTube channel.

That's awesome! We'll definitely get to see Gus wear his famous shirt every year now. Thanks for sharing this great idea with us, Carina!
