Starbucks Has A 'Golden Girls' Cheesecake Frappuccino So I'm Calling My Girlfriends

For seven seasons, Golden Girls centered around four friends with different personalities.

They laughed, they cried, and they ate a lot of cheesecake. Who can blame them? Cheesecake is one of the best desserts out there with its decadent, creamy center and ability to make problems better.

And now, you can feel like you're sitting around the table with the girls with Starbucks' Golden Girls cheesecake frappuccino!

While 'Sex and the City' had Cosmopolitans, the 'Golden Girls' had cheesecake.

Before we get into the iconic Starbucks drink, let's uncover why cheesecake played such a significant role in the lives of Blanche, Rose, Sophia, and Dorothy.

It's said that the actors ate more than 100 cheesecakes over the course of the show!

It was a focal point as they sat around the table and talked out any issues. “Do you know how many problems we have solved over a cheesecake at this kitchen table?” Dorothy once noted.

Surprisingly, the origin of cheesecake on the show is unknown.

“I forget why it started that way,” the show’s producers/screenwriters, Barry Fanaro and Mort Nathan, told Disney D23 in an interview for the show's 35th anniversary.

It is mystifying, considering ice cream would've been a more obvious choice.

But the decision to have the ladies eat cheesecake ended up being perfect — and funnier.

"Eating cheesecake at 1 in the morning is stranger, is a little more decadent," Nathan said.

"And it’s indefinable why, it just seemed a little funnier.” It's even more hilarious once you learn that some of the actresses hated cheesecake!

“Bea [Arthur] hated cheesecake," Barry said.

"If you watch it carefully, you see her moving it around on the plate a lot but it’s not that often that she puts it in her mouth. We didn’t know,” he added.

We wonder if she would've hated this next cheesecake conjunction from Starbucks!

If you're in the mood for actual cheesecake, these recipes will certainly entertain your sweet tooth.

The first one is a chocolate truffle cheesecake inspired by Blanche who once declared, "Here we are not eating chocolate cake which we obviously adore so we can stay very thin and then drop dead—that’s nuts!”

Then, we have a banana cheesecake inspired by Rose, who was played by the late Betty White.

Rose once said, "The older you get, the better you get—unless you’re a banana.” So in celebration of this national treasure who recently passed, try this banana cheesecake.

It'll go great with your Golden Girls cheesecake frap!
