Kate Middleton Is Buying Her Kids 'Practical' Gifts Because She's Worried About Screen Time Too

Being a parent is hard enough without having to worry about Christmas gifts. However, worrying about Christmas gifts is like a part-time job. I'll never forget my mother running around for the entire month of December making sure everything was perfect.

If you can believe it, it seems the Royal family even runs into similar issues, and Kate is determined to make the best gift decisions for her family.

It's hard to keep up with the latest, greatest gifts for children come the holiday season.

I truly do feel like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Christmas classic Jingle All The Way — I'm just a woman on a mission to get the best toys for her kids!

This year, however, maybe we should all be a little bit more like Kate Middleton.

No, I don't mean leave your husbands to marry a Prince and never wear a short skirt again — I mean putting the focus on practical gifts for the kiddos this holiday season.

"Vanity Fair's" Katie Nicholl told "Okay!" magazine that Kate and Wills are "thinking more carefully" about the presents they're buying for their children, and won't be buying anything "extravagant."

Katie claims that the pair are worried that their young children are being too preoccupied with screen time.

"George enjoys his iPad at school, both he and Charlotte are quite tech-savvy and, like most children, there probably are technical gadgets and such like on their wish list," she explained.

"If it is something that happens to be a computer game or something like that then they are cautious of screen time so it could be a more practical gift."

Katie added that the Duke and Duchess would be more inclined to buy their children something they can use "outdoors" or that will "last forever."

I think that's such a great way to think about buying gifts for our children. Let's do them a favour and buy them something that will last long term!
