We Asked Which Jobs You'd Never Want To Do — Here Are Some Of Your Best Answers

There are a lot of jobs and occupations out there. While some of them seem super cool, you probably have a list of jobs you'd never do in a million years.

Recently, we asked you all to share some jobs you'd never want to do, and the answers flooded in. Here are some of the best of the best.

Or maybe the best of the worst.

"Veterinarian." - Rosa Saldivar

"I used to want to be one, until I realized I would have to euthanize pets. I don't think I have it in me to be able to handle that."

Yeah... it's a tough job. The people who actually do it must be tough as nails.

"Plumbers. God bless them. But I can't even handle my own hair in the shower drain." - Trista Tibbs Hermann

I'm sure plumbers see all sorts of nasty stuff on the job, especially when they make house calls. Not for those of us with weak stomachs, that's for sure.

"Car sales person... or any kind of sales really. I'm not a pusher.. that's a whole personality." - Billie Shank

Trying to sell things to people? Upselling them on things they don't need? Yeah, no thanks. Not everyone is cut out for that line of work. You need to be pretty persuasive.

"Okay if it’s what you love doing, but for me no way. Have to get out, do new things, see new people, experience things."

It's actually kind of hard to sit around a computer all day, so I get that. Not everyone dreams of a big corner office with a downtown view.

"Elementary school teacher." - Nadia Lopez

"I can handle that age in small doses (or if it’s my own kid), but I wouldn’t be able to be a teacher for more than an hour or two."

All I can say is, you have to have a lot of patience to be able to handle two dozen kids for six-eight hours a day.

"People tell me all the time, they could never do my job. School bus driver. I've been doing it for 21 years, love it." - Carole Patience

If you think dealing with a room full of kids needs a lot of patience, imagine dealing with a bus full of kids. You better have nerves of steel if you're gonna be a bus driver.

"Anything that requires me to be on a roof, on a ladder, going into holes/caves, or anything that could mess up my back and knees even more than they already are." - Renea Heather

So basically, physical labor. I get that, though; it's really tough being outside, doing such back-breaking work. There's no room for being lazy here!

"Surgeon! My knees get the yips when I see someone hurt." - Deb Pedersen

The human body is... kind of disgusting. And so much can go wrong if you aren't careful. No wonder surgeons make so much money (you still wouldn't catch me going to med school, though).

"Porta potty cleaner." - Bud Kelly Jr.

I never really thought about it before... but somebody's got to clean those things out, right? Nope, I don't think it could be me. I'd probably pass out before I even opened one of those up.

"Airplane pilot or stewardess! I'm way too afraid to fly!" - Aametrii Graham

Not even just the flying itself, but the fact that you have to spend so much of your time in different countries. That may be a dream for some people, but I like being in one place, thank you very much.

"A scuba diver or anything similar because the thought of being too deep underwater makes me feel helpless and vulnerable." - Paul Andrew Sacramento

I second this. The ocean is too big and dark. There's no way I'd be able to have a good time underwater. I'll stay on land where it's dry.

And there's air.

"I would hate folding clothes and putting clothes on hangers and all the clothes go backs." - Ashley Marie

There's literally no worse feeling than the one you get while watching someone completely destroy a pile of clothes you just finished folding in a retail store. And then your manager comes and tells you to clean it up...

"Anything that involves using Excel." - Emily Thurmer

Even if you know how to use Excel... do you really know how to use Excel? Sure, it's handy and all. But it's also really confusing. I can see why some people would want to do without it.

"Crime scene cleaner. Takes a special kind of person for sure." - Jenn Hooper

Especially since you'd have to clean a crime scene after the police collected all their evidence... so whatever smells were there before are worse. That's way too freaky and gross for me.

"Nurse. I have so much respect for them but I could not do that job. I would pass out on the daily." - Ashley Fechner

In fact, working in a hospital at any capacity just seems like a lot. I don't know how nurses, doctors, and hospital cleaning staff do it day in and day out.

"Delivery driver. I am an introvert, and I just cannot face that many strangers, especially if they might yell at me!!" - Amanda Ray Lyons

Being a delivery driver in general seems like a lot of work, but during the holiday season? I can't imagine it being anything other than endless stress. So many houses, so many deliveries. Ugh.

"A desairologist, the cosmetologist for deceased people."

I didn't know there was a word for it until now. But still... no thanks. It's a pretty important job, since the dead don't look the way we'd want them to for an open casket funeral. But it isn't something I'd be doing.

"Be a waitress/ work in food service.. Not that I wouldn't do it, but simply I couldn't do it." - Janel Blackman

"I'd last maybe a day before I spit in someone's food. I've seen the way waitstaff can be treated and I know I don't possess the grand power of patience. That's why I always treat anyone working in food service with the utmost respect because its something i simply could not do."

Yup, I feel that.

"I worked in a perfume factory...for an hour!!! Yuck!" - Dan Mattos

I bet a perfume factory would smell really... strong. If you have scent allergies, you might not want to try this line of work. For the most part, though, you probably get used to it after a while.

"Tattoo artist... cause I can’t draw." - Mike Baranski

Being a tattoo artist is a lot harder than it seems. If you want to be a good one, you better be prepared to practice a lot before you can even try tattooing human skin. Also, knowing how to draw would probably help.
