Food Stylist Shares How A Tampon Creates The Picture Perfect Burger

We all know that fast food always looks way better in the commercials than it does in real life. I mean, come on now — no one has ever gotten a Big Mac that looks as good as it does on TV. Now, a professional food stylist is walking viewers through the amount of effort it takes to get a burger ready for a commercial and let's just say there's a lot of things that aren't edible.

I think the world of food styling is so deeply interesting.

I don't know about you, but I'd much rather spend my afternoon with a food stylist than a fashion stylist. Imagine how boring it would be to talk about clothes all day when you could be talking about pretty food!

Sorry, not sorry.

We've all tried to make our food look Insta-worthy a few more times than we'd like to admit. But don't worry, it's not your fault your food never turns out like the pros.

A lot of times, the pros aren't even using real food to create their masterpieces!

In a video posted by Youtube channel "Well Done" a food stylist breaks down what makes a TV burger look so good.

She does a lot of things, like adding BBQ marks to the patty by using shoeshine and spraying the sesame seed bun with so much Pam it would cause your mouth to actually melt.

However, the most interesting tip came when the burger was already assembled.

The food stylist grabbed a tampon and a steaming cup of water. She dunked the tampon in the water and placed it directly behind the burger.

The result? "Hot juicy burger, fresh off the charbroiler."

The steaming hot tampon adds that final touch to the picture-perfect, completely inedible, burger!

Let's just say I'll never look at fast-food commercials the same way again.
