Prince William And Kate Middleton Insist On Using One Of Princess Diana's Parenting 'Hacks'

Being a parent is hard enough, I can't imagine being one in the public eye. And no, I'm not talking about Instagram mommy bloggers with a few hundred thousand followers, which Lord knows is hard enough, I'm talking about the international recognition that comes with being part of the Royal family. Being a mom plus being an international celebrity? Sounds exhausting!

Thankfully, Prince William and Kate Middleton had the incomparable Princess Diana to look to for parenting advice.

Newsflash: Parenting children is really hard work, especially when you have to do it publicly.

We've all been the parent who's raised their voice in the cereal aisle because your toddler is screaming and crying for a box of Christmas-colored Cheerios in July — it happens.

Having children who were born in the lap of luxury would make it even more difficult to raise them to be humble and kind.

This is a predicament that children of the royal family have faced for centuries. In this era of modern royals, it's more important now than ever to raise members of the monarchy who are grateful, compassionate, and aware of their privilege.

Thankfully, Prince William and Kate Middleton have Princess Diana to turn to for solid parenting advice.

Royal author Andrew Morton said that the reason Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, are always so well behaved is because of the "humble" way they're being raised, as per Today UK News.

Speaking about Princess Diana's parenting skills in the documentary 'Diana: Queen of Hearts?' Andrew said: "She took the young royals with her on her private charity visits from a young age."

"One of the reasons was she didn’t want the boys to grow up thinking the whole world was 4×4 Range Rovers, shotguns and nannies."

Andrew went on to reveal another habit the Princess passed onto her sons was writing thank-you letters to everyone who helped them.

It seems now, nearly 25 years after the princess' tragic death, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are using the same parenting hack with their children.

He continued: "[William and Kate] have developed this brilliant knack of letting as much as they can seem spontaneous and that’s how the children see it."

"Table manners, thank-you letters and little courtesies are being drilled into the children so they become automatic."

I can't imagine how hard it would be to raise children in such a life of wealth and privilege, so I applaud Willian and Kate's efforts in raising their kids as "normally" as possible.
