Supermarket Employee Tells Woman To Leave Because She Was 'Basically Naked'

There is nothing that boils my blood more than dress codes. Sure, don't show up somewhere naked, but other than that I really don't care what people wear. Of course, it goes without saying that these clothing rules mostly apply to women and children, because sending a kid home for the width of their spaghetti strap is far more important than that young girl learning, right?

If you think that's annoying, just wait to see what happened to one woman while she was out running errands recently.

I have gone out to run errands is a wide variety of outfits — sweatpants, office clothes, yoga pants, leggings, sometimes even a PJ top if I have my coat on!

I have never been ridiculed for my outfit, though. I can't imagine the humiliation of being called out by an employee for my outfit.

Sadly, that isn't the case for one young woman from London who was harassed by an Asda employee.

While picking up groceries, a woman was stopped and told her outfit was inappropriate.

In a video uploaded on Twitter, the employee can be heard saying: "We can see your body almost. The manager is coming right now."

"So tonight in @asda @AsdaServiceTeam isle of dogs store I was told by an employee that I wasn’t wearing enough clothes," the young woman said in a now-deleted tweet.

"i wasn’t respecting myself, that I’m basically naked and I shouldn’t be in there. Honestly the most disgusting behaviour."

The young woman then flipped the camera over to show her out which looked... completely normal.

The employee proceeded to say the store had a policy when it comes to customer's outfits.

The video soon went viral after being posted on Twitter, and the store was quick to reply.

"Hi Jaiah, thanks for bringing this to our attention. This is not a recognised policy at Asda and we are really sorry for the service you received. I've spoken to the store manager who is addressing this incident and I would be happy to discuss how we can put it right for you?" they wrote.

Understandably, lots of people were upset by the treatment this woman experienced.

"Please tell me this guy has been sacked," tweeted one user. "Absolutely bizarre and no right to harass and then attempt to implement his own made-up ‘rules’. Blatant sexism/misogyny as I doubt he would accost a male he felt ‘inappropriately’ dressed."

The video has since been deleted.
